The following prayers and recommended devotional acts have been quoted from Shaykh al-Tusi’s famous book of Misbah al-Mutahajjid and other reference books.

After you say the Taslim statement - the closing part of the ritual prayers - and accomplish your prayer, repeat the Takbir statement (i.e. Allahuakbar; Allah is the Greatest) three times while raising your hands to the level of your ears and then say:

لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَا اللهُ اِلٰهًا وَاحِدًا وَ نَحْنُ لَهُ مُسْلِمُوْنَ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَا اللهُ وَ لَا نَعْبُدُ اِلَّا اِيَّاهُ مُخْلِصِيْنَ لَهُ الدِّيْنَ وَ لَوْ كَرِهَ الْمُشْرِكُوْنَ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَا اللهُ رَبُّنَا وَ رَبُّ اٰباۤئِنَا الْاَوَّلِيْنَ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ وَحْدَهُ وَحْدَهُ اَنْجَزَ وَعْدَهُ وَ نَصَرَ عَبْدَهُ وَ اَعَزَّ جُنْدَهُ وَ هَزَمَ الْاَحْزَابَ وَحْدَهُ فَلَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَ لَهُ الْحَمْدُ يُحْيِىْ وَ يُمِيْتُ وَ يُمِيْتُ وَ يُحْيِىْ وَ هُوَ حَىُّ لَايَمُوْتُ بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ وَ هُوَ عَلٰى كُلِّشَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ۔

Then, say the following:

اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللهَ الَّذِىْ لَا ۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّوْمُ وَ اَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ

Then, say the following:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اهْدِنِىْ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ وَ اَفِضْ عَلَىَّ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ وَ انْشُرْ عَلَىَّ مِنْ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ اَنْزِلْ عَلَىَّ مِنْ بَرَكَاتِكَ سُبْحَانَكَ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اَنْتَ اِغْفِرْ لِىْ ذُنُوْبِىْ كُلَّهَا جَمِيْعًا فَاِنَّهُ لَا يَغْفِرُ الذُّنُوْبَ كُلَّهَا جَمِيْعًا اِلَّا اَنْتَ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّى اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ كُلِّ خَيْرٍ اَحَاطَ بِهِ عِلْمُكَ وَ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ شَرٍّ اَحَاطَ بِهِ عِلْمُكَ۔ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّى اَسْئَلُكَ عَافِيَتَكَ فِىْ اُمُوْرِىْ كُلِّهَا وَ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ خِزْىِ الدُّنْيَا وَعَذَابِ الْاٰخِرَةِ وَاَعُوْذُ بِوَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيْمِ وَ عِزَّتِكَ الَّتِىْ لَا تُرَامُ وَ قُدْرَتِكَ الَّتِىْ لَا يَمْتَنِعُ مِنْهَا شَىْءٌ مِنْ شَرِّ الدُّنْيَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ الْاَوْجَاعِ كُلِّهَا وَمِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ دَآبَّةٍ اَنْتَ اٰخِذٌ بِنَاصِيَتِهَا اِنَّ رَبِّىْ عَلٰى صِرَاطٍ مُّسْتَقِيْمٍ وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ اِلَّا بِاللهِ الْعَلِىِّ الْعَظِيْمِ تَوَّكَلْتُ عَلَى الْحَىِّ الَّذِىْ لَا يَمُوْتُ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ الَّذِىْ لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ شَرِيْكٌ فِى الْمُلْكِ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ وَلِىٌّ مِّنَ الذُّلِّ وَ كَبِّرْهُ تَكْبِيْرًا۔

Then, utter the Tasbih al-Zahra’ litany (which is discussed in the attached book of al-Baqiyat al-Salihat). Before you move from your prayer-place, repeat the following litany ten times:

اَشْهَدُ اَنْ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيْكَ لَهُ اِلٰهًا وَاحِدًا اَحَدًا فَرْدًا صَمَدًا لَمْ يَتَّخِذْ صَاحِبَةً وَ لَا وَلَدًا۔

It is narrated that a great reward is obtained by saying this litany, especially after the dawn (fajr) (Fajr) and Evening (Isha’) obligatory Prayers and at sunrise and sunset.

Then, say the following:

سُبْحَانَ اللهِ كُلَّمَا سَبَّحَ اللهَ شَىْ ءٌ وَ كَمَا يُحِبُّ اللهُ اَنْ يُّسَبَّحَ وَ كَمَا هُوَ اَهْلُهُ وَ كَمَا يَنْبَغِىْ لِكَرَمِ وَجْهِهِ وَ عِزِّ جَلَالِهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ كُلَّمَا حَمِدَ اللهَ شَىْ ءٌ وَ كَمَا يُحِبُّ اللهُ اَنْ يُحْمَدَ وَ كَمَا هُوَ اَهْلُهُ وَ كَمَا يَنْبَغِىْ لِكَرَمِ وَجْهِهِ وَ عِزِّ جَلَالِهِ وَ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ كُلَّمَا هَلَّلَ اللهَ شَىْ ءٌ وَ كَمَا يُحِبُّ اللهُ اَنْ يُّهَلَّلَ وَ كَمَا هُوَ اَهْلُهُ وَ كَمَا يَنْبَغِىْ لِكَرَمِ وَجْهِهِ وَ عِزِّ جَلَالِهِ۔ وَ اللهُ اَكْبَرُ كُلَّمَا كَبَّرَ اللهَ شَىْ ءٌ وَ كَمَا يُحِبُّ اللهُ اَنْ يُّكَبَّرَ وَ كَمَا هُوَ اَهْلُهُ وَ كَمَا يَنْبَغِىْ لِكَرَمِ وَجْهِهِ وَ عِزِّ جَلَالِهِ سُبْحَانَ اللهِ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ وَ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللهُ وَ اللهُ اَكْبَرُ عَلٰى كُلِّ نِعْمَةٍ اَنْعَمَ بِهَا عَلَىَّ وَ عَلٰى كُلِّ اَحَدٍ مِّنْ خَلْقِهِ مِمَّنْ كَانَ اَوْ يَكُوْنُ اِلٰى يَوْمِ الْقِيَامَةِ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّى اَسْئَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اَسْئَلُكَ مِنْ خَيْرِ مَا اَرْجُوْ وَ خَيْرِ مَا لَا اَرْجُوْ وَ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا اَحْذَرُ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا لَا اَحْذَرُ۔

Then, recite the following Quranic texts:

(1) Surah al-Hamd (i.e. al-Faatehah No. 1),

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ(1) اَلْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَۙ‏(2) الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِۙ‏(3) مٰلِكِ يَوْمِ الدِّيْنِؕ‏(4) اِيَّاكَ نَعْبُدُ وَاِيَّاكَ نَسْتَعِيْنُؕ‏(5) اِهْدِنَا الصِّرَاطَ الْمُسْتَقِيْمَۙ‏(6) صِرَاطَ الَّذِيْنَ اَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ ۙ‏ غَيْرِ الْمَغْضُوْبِ عَلَيْهِمْ وَلَا الضَّآلِّيْنَ‏(7)

(2) Ayah al-Kursi (2:255-257),

بِسْمِ اللهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحِيْمِ اَللّٰهُ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْحَىُّ الْقَيُّوْمُۚ  لَا تَاْخُذُهٗ سِنَةٌ وَّلَا نَوْمٌ‌ؕ لَهٗ مَا فِى السَّمٰوٰتِ وَمَا فِى الْاَرْضِ‌ؕ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِىْ يَشْفَعُ عِنْدَهٗۤ اِلَّا بِاِذْنِهٖ‌ؕ يَعْلَمُ مَا بَيْنَ اَيْدِيْهِمْ وَمَا خَلْفَهُمْ‌ۚ وَلَا يُحِيْطُوْنَ بِشَىْءٍ مِّنْ عِلْمِهٖۤ اِلَّا بِمَا شَآءَ ۚ وَسِعَ كُرْسِيُّهُ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَالْاَرْضَ‌‌ۚ وَلَا يَئُوْدُهٗ حِفْظُهُمَا ‌ۚ وَ هُوَ الْعَلِىُّ الْعَظِيْمُ‏(255) لَاۤ اِكْرَاهَ فِى الدِّيْنِ‌ۙ  قَد تَّبَيَّنَ الرُّشْدُ مِنَ الْغَىِّ‌ۚ فَمَنْ يَّكْفُرْ بِالطَّاغُوْتِ وَيُؤْمِنْۢ بِاللّٰهِ فَقَدِ اسْتَمْسَكَ بِالْعُرْوَةِ الْوُثْقٰى لَا انْفِصَامَ لَهَا‌‌ ؕ وَاللّٰهُ سَمِيْعٌ عَلِيْمٌ‏(256) اَللّٰهُ وَلِىُّ الَّذِيْنَ اٰمَنُوْا يُخْرِجُهُمْ مِّنَ الظُّلُمٰتِ اِلَى النُّوْرِ‌ؕ  وَالَّذِيْنَ كَفَرُوْۤا اَوْلِيٰٓئُهُمُ الطَّاغُوْتُۙ يُخْرِجُوْنَهُمْ مِّنَ النُّوْرِ اِلَى الظُّلُمٰتِ‌ؕ اُولٰٓئِكَ اَصْحٰبُ النَّارِ‌‌ۚ هُمْ فِيْهَا خٰلِدُوْنَ‏(257)

(3) Verses of Bearing Witness (Ayat al-Shahadah; 3:18-19),

شَهِدَ اللّٰهُ اَنَّهٗ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَۙ وَالْمَلٰٓئِكَةُ وَاُولُوا الْعِلْمِ قَآئِمًا ۢ بِالْقِسْطِ‌ؕ لَاۤ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْعَزِيْزُ الْحَكِيْمُؕ‏(18) اِنَّ الدِّيْنَ عِنْدَ اللّٰهِ الْاِسْلَامُ وَمَا اخْتَلَفَ الَّذِيْنَ اُوْتُوا الْكِتٰبَ اِلَّا مِنْۢ بَعْدِ مَا جَآءَهُمُ الْعِلْمُ بَغْيًا ۢ بَيْنَهُمْ‌ؕ وَمَنْ يَّكْفُرْ بِاٰيٰتِ اللّٰهِ فَاِنَّ اللّٰهَ سَرِيْعُ الْحِسَابِ‏(19)

(4) Verses of Kingdom (Ayah al-Mulk; 3:26-27),

قُلِ اللّٰهُمَّ مٰلِكَ الْمُلْكِ تُؤْتِى الْمُلْكَ مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتَنْزِعُ الْمُلْكَ مِمَّنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُعِزُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ وَتُذِلُّ مَنْ تَشَآءُ‌ ؕ بِيَدِكَ الْخَيْرُ‌ؕ اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيْرٌ‏(26) تُوْلِجُ الَّيْلَ فِى النَّهَارِ وَتُوْلِجُ النَّهَارَ فِى الَّيْلِ‌ وَتُخْرِجُ الْحَىَّ مِنَ الْمَيِّتِ وَتُخْرِجُ الْمَيِّتَ مِنَ الْحَىِّ‌ وَتَرْزُقُ مَنْ تَشَآءُ بِغَيْرِ حِسَابٍ‏(27)

(5) Verses of Subservience (Ayah al-Sakharah 7:54-56).

اِنَّ رَبَّكُمُ اللّٰهُ الَّذِىْ خَلَقَ السَّمٰوٰتِ وَ الْاَرْضَ فِىْ سِتَّةِ اَيَّامٍ ثُمَّ اسْتَوٰى عَلَى الْعَرْشِ يُغْشِى الَّيْلَ النَّهَارَ يَطْلُبُهٗ حَثِيْثًا ۙ وَّالشَّمْسَ وَالْقَمَرَ وَالنُّجُوْمَ مُسَخَّرٰتٍۢ بِاَمْرِهٖ ؕ اَلَا لَهُ الْخَلْقُ وَالْاَمْرُ‌ ؕ تَبٰرَكَ اللّٰهُ رَبُّ الْعٰلَمِيْنَ‏(54) اُدْعُوْا رَبَّكُمْ تَضَرُّعًا وَّخُفْيَةً‌ ؕ اِنَّهٗ لَا يُحِبُّ الْمُعْتَدِيْنَ‌ ۚ‏(55) وَلَا تُفْسِدُوْا فِى الْاَرْضِ بَعْدَ اِصْلَاحِهَا وَادْعُوْهُ خَوْفًا وَّطَمَعًا‌ ؕ اِنَّ رَحْمَتَ اللّٰهِ قَرِيْبٌ مِّنَ الْمُحْسِنِيْنَ‏(56)

Then, repeat the following verses (Surah al-Saaffaat 37:180-183) three times:

سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُوْنَ وَ سَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ۔

Then, repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times:

اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اجْعَلْ لِىْ مِنْ اَمْرِىْ فَرَجًا وَ مَخْرَجًا وَ ارْزُقْنِىْ مِنْ حَيْثُ اَحْتَسِبُ وَ مِنْ حَيْثُ لَاۤ اَحْتَسِبُ۔

This supplicatory prayer was taught by Archangel Gabriel to Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) - peace be upon him - when he was in prison. Then, hold your beard with your right hand, raise your left hand towards the sky, and repeat the following supplicatory prayer seven times:

يَا رَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَجِّلْ فَرَجَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

Keeping on the same situation, repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times:

يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَامِ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ ارْحَمْنِىْ وَ اَجِرْنِىْ مِنَ النَّارِ۔

After repeating Surah al-Ikhlaas (or al-Tawheed; No. 112) twelve times, say the following supplicatory prayer:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّىْ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْمَكْنُوْنِ الْمَخْزُوْنِ الطَّاهِرِ الطُّهْرِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَ اَسْئَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الْعَظِيْمِ وَ سُلْطَانِكَ الْقَدِيْمِ يَا وَاهِبَ الْعَطَايَا وَ يَا مُطْلِقَ الْاُسَارٰى وَ يَا فَكَّاكَ الرِّقَابِ مِنَ النَّارِ اَسْئَلُكَ اَنْ تُصَلِّىَ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اٰلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اَنْ تُعْتِقَ رَقَبَتِىْ مِنَ النَّارِ وَ اَنْ تُخْرِجَنِىْ مِنَ الدُّنْيَا سَالِمًا وَ [اَنْ] تُدْخِلَنِى الْجَنَّةَ اٰمِنًا وَ اَنْ تَجْعَلَ دُعَاۤئِىْ اَوَّلَهُ فَلَاحًا وَ اَوْسَطَهُ نَجَاحًا وَ اٰخِرَهُ صَلَاحًا اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ عَلَّامُ الْغُيُوْبِ

According to al-Sahifah al-Alawiyyah (a collection of Imam Ali’s supplications), the following supplicatory prayer is advisably said after the obligatory prayers:

يَا مَنْ لَا يَشْغَلُهُ سَمْعٌ عَنْ سَمْعٍ وَ يَا مَنْ لَا يُغَلِّطُهُ السَّاۤئِلُوْنَ وَ يَا مَنْ لَايُبْرِمُهُ اِلْحَاحُ الْمُلِحِّيْنَ اَذِقْنِىْ بَرْدَ عَفْوِكَ وَ حَلَاوَةَ رَحْمَتِكَ وَ مَغْفِرَتِكَ۔

You may also say the following supplicatory prayer:

اِلٰهِىْ هٰذِهِ صَلٰوتِىْ صَلَّيْتُهَا لَا لِحَاجَةٍ مِنْكَ اِلَيْهَا وَ لَا رَغْبَةٍ مِنْكَ فِيْهَا اِلَّا تَعْظِيْمًا وَ طَاعَةً وَاِجَابَةً لَكَ اِلٰى مَا اَمَرْتَنِىْ بِهِ اِلٰهِىْ اِنْ كَانَ فِيْهَا خَلَلٌ اَوْ نَقْصٌ مِنْ رُكُوْعِهَا اَوْ سُجُوْدِهَا فَلَا تُؤَ اخِذْنِىْ وَ تَفَضَّلْ عَلَىَّ بِالْقَبُوْلِ وَ الْغُفْرَانِ ۔

After accomplishment of the ritual prayers, you may also say the following supplicatory prayer, which the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) taught to Imam AliAmeer al-Momineen(a.s.) for developing memory:

سُبْحَانَ مَنْ لَايَعْتَدِىْ عَلٰى اَهْلِ مَمْلَكَتِهِ سُبْحَانَ مَنْ لَا يَاْخُذُ اَهْلَ الْاَرْضِ بِاَلْوَانِ الْعَذَابِ سُبْحَانَ الرَّؤُفِ الرَّحِيْمِ اَللّٰهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لِىْ فِىْ قَلْبِىْ نُوْرًا وَ بَصَرًا وَ فَهْمًا وَ عِلْمًا اِنَّكَ عَلٰى كُلِّشَىْ ءٍ قَدِيْرٌ ۔

Al-Kaf’ami, in his book of al-Misbah, cites that it is advisable to repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times after obligatory prayers:

اُعِيْذُ نَفْسِىْ وَ دِيْنِىْ وَ اَهْلِىْ وَ مَالِىْ وَ وَلَدِىْ وَ اِخْوَانِىْ فِىْ دِيْنِىْ وَ مَا رَزَقَنِىْ رَبِّىْ وَ خَوَاتِيْمَ عَمَلِىْ وَ مَنْ يَعْنِيْنِىْ اَمْرُهُ بِاللهِ الْوَاحِدِ الْاَحَدِ الصَّمَدِ الَّذِىْ لَمْ يَلِدْ وَ لَمْ يُوْلَدْ وَ لَمْ يَكُنْ لَهُ كُفُوًا اَحَدٌ وَ بِرَبِّ الْفَلَقِ مِنْ شَرِّ مَا خَلَقَ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ غَاسِقٍ اِذَا وَقَبَ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ النَّفَّاثَاتِ فِى الْعُقَدِ وَ مِنْ شَرِّ حَاسِدٍ اِذَا حَسَدَ وَ بِرَبِّ النَّاسِ مَلِكِ النَّاسِ اِلٰهِ النَّاسِ مِنْ شَرِّ الْوَسْوَاسِ الْخَنَّاسِ الَّذِىْ يُوَسْوِسُ فِىْ صُدُوْرِ النَّاسِ مِنَ الْجِنَّةِ وَ النَّاسِ۔

It is narrated in an inscription handwritten by Shaykh al-Shahid that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said: Whoever desires that Almighty Allah will not show him his evildoings (that he did in this world) on the Resurrection Day and will not open the record of his evildoings, should say the following supplicatory prayer after each obligatory prayer:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنَّ مَغْفِرَتَكَ اَرْجٰى مِنْ عَمَلِىْ وَ اِنَّ رَحْمَتَكَ اَوْسَعُ مِنْ ذَنْبِىْ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنْ كَانَ ذَنْبِىْ عِنْدَكَ عَظِيْمًا فَعَفْوُكَ اَعْظَمُ مِنْ ذَنْبِىْ اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنْ لَمْ اَكُنْ اَهْلًا اَنْ اَبْلُغَ رَحْمَتَكَ فَرَحْمَتُكَ اَهْلٌ اَنْ تَبْلُغَنِىْ وَ تَسَعَنِىْ لِاَنَّهَا وَسِعَتْ كُلَّشَىْءٍ بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَاۤاَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ۔

Ibn Baabwayh (i.e. Shaykh al-Saduq) holds that one should say the following litany immediately after uttering Tasbih al-Zahra’:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اَنْتَ السَّلَامُ وَ مِنْكَ السَّلَامُ وَ لَكَ السَّلَامُ وَ اِلَيْكَ يَعُوْدُ السَّلَامُ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّكَ رَبِّ الْعِزَّةِ عَمَّا يَصِفُوْنَ وَ سَلَامٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ اَيُّهَا النَّبِىُّ وَ رَحْمَةُ اللهِ وَ بَرَكَاتُهُ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْاَئِمَّةِ الْهَادِيْنَ الْمَهْدِيِّيْنَ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى جَمِيْعِ اَنْبِيَاۤءِ اللهِ وَ رُسُلِهِ وَ مَلَاۤئِكَتِهِ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْنَا وَ عَلٰى عِبَادِ اللهِ الصَّالِحِيْنَ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى عَلِىٍّ اَمِيْرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ، اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ سَيِّدَىْ شَبَابِ اَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ اَجْمَعِيْنَ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى عَلِىِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ زَيْنِ الْعَابِدِيْنَ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِىٍّ بَاقِرِ عِلْمِ النَّبِيِّيْنَ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ۟اِلصَّادِقِ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مُوْسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ ۟اِلْكَاظِمِ اَلسَّلامُ عَلٰى عَلِىِّ بْنِ مُوْسَى الرِّضَا اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِىٍّ ۟اِلْجَوَادِ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى عَلِىٍّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ ۟اِلْهَادِىْ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِي ۟اِلزَّكِىِّ الْعَسْكَرِىِّ اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحُجَّةِ بْنِ الْحَسَنِ الْقَاۤئِمِ الْمَهْدِىِّ صَلَوَاتُ اللهِ عَلَيْهِمْ اَجْمَعِيْنَ۔

After saying this litany, one may pray Almighty Allah to grant him all his personal desires. Shaykh al-Kaf’ami has also said that one should utter the following litany after the accomplishment of the obligatory prayers:

رَضِيْتُ بِاللهِ رَبًّا وَبِالْاِسْلَامِ دِيْنًا وَ بِمُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللهُ عَلَيْهِ وَاٰلِهِ نَبِيًّا وَ بِعَلِىٍّ اِمَامًا وَ بِالْحَسَنِ وَ الْحُسَيْنِ وَ عَلِىٍّ وَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ جَعْفَرٍ وَ مُوْسٰى وَ عَلِىٍّ وَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ عَلِىٍّ وَ الْحَسَنِ وَ الْخَلَفِ الصَّالِحِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ اَئِمَّةً وَ سَادَةً وَ قَادَةً بِهِمْ اَتَوَلّىٰ وَ مِنْ اَعْدَاۤئِهِمْ اَتَبَرَّءُ۔

You should then repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times:

اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنِّى اَسْئَلُكَ الْعَفْوَ وَالْعَافِيَةَ وَ الْمُعَافَاةَ فِى الدُّنْيَا وَ الْاٰخِرَةِ ۔

(مصباح شیخ طوسی میں نقل کیا گیا ہے کہ جب نماز کا سلام تمام ہو جائے تو تین مرتبہ اللہ اکبر کہے اور ہر مرتبہ اپنے ہاتھوں کو کانوں تک بلند کرے اور اس کے بعد یہ دعا پڑھے):۔

اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے، وہ اکیلا خدا ہے اور ہم اسی کے اطاعت گذار ہیں۔ اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے اور ہم اس کے علاوہ کسی کی عبادت نہیں کرتے ہیں۔ دین میں اسی کے مخلص ہیں چاہے یہ بات مشرکین کو کتنی ہی ناگوار کیوں نہ ہو۔ اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔ وہی ہمارا اور ہمارے تمام گذشتہ آباء و اجداد کا پروردگار ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔ وہ اکیلا ہے، یکتا ہے، تنہا ہے۔ اس نے اپنے وعدے کو پوارا کیا ہے اور اپنے بندے کی مدد کی ہے، اپنے لشکر کی نصرت کی ہے اور تمام دشمنوں کے لشکروں کو شکست دی۔ سارا ملک اسی کے لئے ہے اور ساری حمد اسی کے لئے ہے۔ وہ زندگی کے بعد موت اور موت کے بعد زندگی کا دینے والا ہے۔ ایسا زندہ ہے جس کے لئے موت نہیں ہے اور سار اخیر اسی کے ہاتھوں میں ہے اور وہ ہر شئی پر قادر ہے۔

(پھر کہے)

میں اسی سے استغفار کر رہا ہوں کہ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔ وہ زندہ و پائندہ ہے اور میں اسی کی بارگاہ کی طرف متوجہ ہوں۔

(پھر کہے)

خدایا مجھے اپنی بارگاہ سے ہدایت فرما۔ اپنا فضل و کرم میرے شامل حال کردے اور اپنے دامن رحمت کو میرے اوپر پھیلا دے اور اپنی برکتیں میرے اوپر نازل کر دے تو بے نیاز ہے۔ تیرے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔ تو میرے تمام گناہوں کو بخش دے کہ تیرے علاوہ کوئی ان تمام گناہوں کو بخشنے والا نہیں ہے۔ خدایا میں تجھ سے ہر اس خیر کا طلبگار ہوں جو تیرے علم میں ہے اور ہر اس شئے سے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں جو تیرے علم میں ہے۔خدایا میں اپنے جملہ امور میں تجھ سے عافیت چاہتا ہوں۔ دنیا کی رسوائی اور آخرت کے عذاب سے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں تیری کریم ذات اور تیری اس عزت کے واسطے سے جس تک کسی کی رسائی نہیں ہے اور اس قدرت کے واسطے سے جس سے کوئی چیز بچ کر جا نہیں سکتی ہے۔ دنیا اور آخرت کے شر سے اور تمام درد وآلام کے شر سے تیری پناہ چاہتا ہوں۔ خدائے علی و عظیم کے علاوہ نہ کوئی طاقت ہے اور نہ کوئی قوت ہے۔ میرا اعتماد اسی مالکِ حیات پر ہے جس کے لئے موت نہیں ہے۔ ساری حمد اس اللہ کے لئے جس نے کسی کو اپنا بیٹا نہیں بنایا۔ نہ اسکی سلطنت میں میں کوئی اس کا شریک ہے اور نہ کوئی کمزور ہی اس کا مددگار ہے۔ بزرگی اسی کے لئے ہے اور بزرگی سے اسی کو یاد کرنا چاہیے۔

(پھر اس کے بعد تسبیحِ جناب زہراؑ پڑھے اور اپنی جگہ سے ہٹنے سے پہلے دس مرتبہ ذکر کرے )

میں گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ اللہ کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے، وہ اکیلا ہے، اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں ہے، وہ یکتا و یگانہ تنہاو بے نیاز ہے۔ اس نے کسی کونہ اپنا شریک حیات بنایا ہے اور نہ فرزند۔

(بقول مولّف اس تہلیل کی بےحد فضیلت و ارد ہوئی ہے۔ خاص طریقے سے صبح و شام کی نماز کی تعقیبات میں اور طلوع و غروب آفتاب کے وقت۔اس کے بعد یہ تسبیح پڑھے۔)

اللہ پاک و پاکیزہ ہے۔ جب بھی کوئی اس کی تسبیح کرے اور جس طرح وہ چاہتا ہے کہ اس کی تسبیح کی جائے اور جس تسبیح کاوہ اہل ہے اور جو تسبیح اس کی ذات کریم اور اس کے عزت و جلال کے شایانِ شان ہے۔ ساری حمد اللہ کے لئے ہے جب بھی کوئی اس کی حمد کرے اور جس طرح بھی وہ حمد کو پسند کرتا ہے اور جس کا وہ اہل ہےاور جو حمد اس کی ذات کریم اور اس کے عزت و جلال کے لئے مناسب ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے جس چیز سے بھی کوئی اس کی تہلیل کی جائے اور جس طرح بھی وہ تہلیل کو پسند کرتا ہے اور جس کا وہ اہل ہے،اور جو تہلیل اس کی ذاتِ کریم اور عزت و جلال کے شایان شان ہے اللہ بزرگ ہے۔ جب بھی کوئی اس کی بزرگی کا اقرار کرے اور جس طرح بھی وہ تکبیر کو پسند کرتا ہے اور جس کا وہ اہل ہے اور جو تکبیراس کی ذات کریم اور اس کی عزت و جلال کے شایان شان ہے۔ اللہ بے نیاز ہےاور حمد اس کے لئے ہے۔ اس کے علاوہ کوئی خدا نہیں ہے۔ وہ سب سے بزرگ ہے۔ ہم سب ہر اس نعمت پر جو اس نے مجھے یا اپنی کسی بھی مخلوق کو عطا کی ہے جو گذر چکی یا قیامت تک میں ہونے والی ہے۔ خدایا محمدوآل محمد پر رحمت نازل فرما۔ میں خیر بھی چاہتا ہوں جس کی امید رکھتا ہوں اور وہ خیر بھی جس کا امیدوار نہیں ہوں۔ اس شر سے بھی پناہ چاہتا ہوں جس سے ڈر رہا ہوں اور اس شر سے بھی جس سے بچتا بھی نہیں ہوں۔

(اس کے بعد سورہ حمد۔ آیت الکرسی، آیت شہداللہ، آیت قل اللّٰہم مالک الملک اور آیت سخرّ لکم کی تلاوت کرے اور تینوں آیتیں سورہ اعراف کی ہیں جن کا آغاز انّ ربّکُم اللہ سے ہوتا ہے اور خاتمہ من المحسنین پر ہوتا ہے۔ اس کے بعد تین مرتبہ اس دعا کو دہرائے۔)

ہمارا پروردگار جو ربّ العزت بھی ہے وہ لوگوں کی توصیف سے پاک و پاکیزہ ہے سلام تمام مرسلین ؑ پر اور حمد اس خدا کے لئے ہے جو ربّ العالمین ہے۔

(اس کے بعد تین مرتبہ کہے)

خدایا محمد ؐ و آل محمد ؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما، ہمارے امور میں کشائش اور وسعت عطا فرما اور ہمیں ہر اس جگہ سے رزق عطا فرما جو ہمارے خیال میں ہے یا نہیں بھی ہے۔

(یہ وہ دعا ہے جس کو جبرئیل نے اس وقت جناب یوسف کے حوالے کیا تھا جب وہ قید خانے میں تھے۔اس کے بعد اپنے محاسن کو پکڑ کر داہنے ہاتھ سے اور بائیں ہاتھ کی ہتھیلی کو آسمان کی طرف کر کے سات مرتبہ کہے )

اے محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ کے پروردگار محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما اور ان کے سکون و آرام میں اضافہ فرما۔

(اس کے بعد اسی حالت میں تین مرتبی کہے)

اے صاحب جلال و اکرام محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرم، اور ہم پر مہربانی کر کے ہمیں جہنم سے پناہ دے دے۔

(اس کے بعد بارہ مرتبہ سورہ قل ھو اللہ احد پڑھے اور کہے)

خدایا میں تیرے پوشیدہ، خزانہ شدہ، پاک و پاکیزہ اور با برکت نام کے وسیلہ سے سوال کر رہا ہوں، تجھے تیرے عظیم نام اور تیری ازلی سلطنت کا واسطہ، اے عطیہ دینے والے اور قیدیوں کو آزادی دلانے والے اور گردنوں کو جہنم سے آزاد کرنے والے میرا سوال یہ ہے کہ محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر رحمت نازل فرما اور میری گردن کو جہنم سے آزاد کردے مجھے دنیا سے سلامتی کے ساتھ اٹھانا اور جنت میں امن و آمان کے ساتھ داخل کر دینا، ہماری دعا کے جائے آغاز کو نجات، وسط کو کامیابی اور آخر کو صلاح قرار دے دے۔ تو ہر غیب کا جاننے والا ہے۔

(صحیفۂ علویہ میں مذکور ہے کہ ہر نماز فریضہ کے بعد یوں کہے)

اے وہ پروردگار جس کو ایک دعا کا سننا دوسری سے روکتا نہیں ہے اور جس پر طلبگاروں کی طلب مشتبہ نہیں ہوتی ہے اور جو محتاجوں کے اسرار سے خستہ حال نہیں ہوتا ہے مجھ کو اپنی معافی کی خنکی اور مغفرت کی حلاوت کا ذائقہ چکھا دے۔

(اس کے علاوہ یہ بھی کہے)

خدایا یہ میری نماز ہے جو میں نے پڑھ دی ہے۔نہ تو اس کا محتاج ہے اور نہ تیری اس میں کوئی رغبت ہے۔ یہ صرف تیری تعظیم، اطاعت اور تیرے حکم کی تعمیل میں پڑھی گئی ہے۔ خدایا اگر اس میں کوئی خلل ہے، یا اس کے رکوع و سجود میں کوئی نقص ہے تو مجھ سے اس کا کچھ مواخذہ نہ کرنا اور اپنے فضل و کرم سے اسے قبول کر لینا اور میری خطاؤں کو بخش دینا۔

(اس کے بعد ہرنماز کے بعد وہ دعائے حافظہ بھی پڑھے جو پیغمبر اسلام ؐ امیر المومنین ؑ کو تعلیم کی تھی)

پاک و پاکیزہ ہے وہ جو اپنے اہلِ مملکت پر ظلم نہیں کرتا ہے اور اہلِ زمین کو طرح طرح کے عذاب میں مبتلا نہیں کرتا ہے۔ تو بے نیاز ہے اے خدائے رؤف و رحیم۔ میرے دل میں نور، بصیرت، فہم اور علم کو قرار دےدے کہ تو ہر شئے پر قادر ہے۔

(مصباح کفعمی میں وادر ہوا ہے کہ نمازوں کے بعد تین بار یہ دعا پڑھے)

میں اپنے نفس، اپنے دین، اپنے اہل و عیال، اپنے مال، اپنے دینی برادران، اپنے تمام رزق، اپنے اعمال کے خاتمے اور تمام متعلقین کو اس خدائے واحد و احد و بے نیاز کی پناہ میں دیتا ہوں جس کا نہ کوئی بیٹا ہے اور نہ باپ اور نہ اس کو کوئی ہمسر ہے۔ وہ خدا ہر شے کا خلق کرنے والاہے اور صبح کے اجالے کا مالک ہے کہ وہ اپنے مخلوق کے شر سے، ہر تاریکی کے شر سے اور گرہوں پر پھونکنے والے تمام جادوں گروں سے اور ہر حاسد کے حسد سے نجات دیدے۔ میں پناہ چاہتا ہوں اس خدا کی جو انسان کا پروردگار،بادشاہ اور مالک ہے اس شیطان کے وسواس سے جو لوگوں کے دلوں میں شبہہ پیدا کرتا ہے چاہے وہ انسان میں ہو یا جنات میں سے۔

(شیخ شہید علیہ الرحمہ کے خط سے نقل کیا گیا ہے کہ رسول اکرمؐ نے فرمایا ہے کہ جو شخص بھی چاہتا ہے کہ خدا کسی کو روزِ قیامت اس کے برے اعمال سے باخبر نہ کرے اور اس کا نامۂ اعمال نشر نہ کرے اس کو چاہئے کہ ہر نماز کےبعد یہ دعا پڑھے۔)

خدایا میں اپنے اعمال سے زیادہ تیری مغفرت کی امید رکھتا ہوں۔ تیری رحمت میرے گناہوں سے زیادہ وسعت رکھتی ہے۔ خدایا اگر میرے گناہ عظیم ہیں تو تیری معافی میرے گناہوں سے بھی عظیم تر ہے، پروردگار اگر میں اس بات کا اہل نہیں ہوں کہ تیری رحمت تک پہنچ سکوں تو تیری رحمت خود اس بات کی اہل ہے کہ مجھ تک پہنچ جائے اور میرے شاملِ حال ہو جائے اس لئے کہ وہ ہر شئے کے شامل حال ہے۔ اے ارحم الراحمین میں تیری رحمت کے واسطے سے یہ سوال کر رہا ہوں۔

(ابن بابویہ علیہ الرحمہ سے نقل کیا گیا ہے کہ تسبیح جناب فاطمہؑ کے بعد یہ دعا پڑھے۔)

خدایا تیرا نام سلام ہے اور سلامتی تیری ہی طرف سے ہے۔ سلامتی تیرے ہی لئے ہے اور اس کی بازگشت بھی تیری ہی طرف ہے۔آپ کو پروردگار وہ ربّ العزت ہے جو لوگوں کے بیان کردہ اوصاف سے پاک و پاکیزہ ہے اور میرا سلام ہے تمام مرسلین پر اور ساری حمد ہے خدائے ربّ العالمین کے لئے۔ سلام ہو آپ پر اے پیغمبرؐ اور خدا کی رحمت و برکت آپ کے لئے ہے۔ سلام ہو ان ائمہ پر جو ہادی بھی ہیں اور مہدی بھی ہیں۔ سلام ہو اللہ کے تمام انبیاء و مرسلین اور ملائکہ پر سلام ہو ہم پر اور تمام اللہ کے نیک بندوں پر، سلام ہو امیر المومنین حضرت علیؑ پر، سلام ہو حسنؑ و حسینؑ پر جو تمام جوانان جنت کے سردار ہیں، سلام ہو زین العابدینؑ بن الحسینؑ پر، سلام ہو باقرؑ علوم انبیاء محمدؑ بن علی ؑ پر، سلام ہوحضرت جعفرؑ بن محمدؑ صادق پر، سلام ہو حضرت موسیٰ بن جعفر کاظمؑ پر، سلام ہو علیؑ بن موسیٰؑ الرضا پر، سلام ہو محمدؑ بن علیؑ جواد پر، سلام علیؑ بن ہادیؑ پر، سلام ہو حسنؑ بن علیؑ زکی عسکریؑ پر، سلام ہو حضرت حجتہ بن الحسنؑ قائم مہدی ؑپر اللہ کی رحمتیں ان تمام بزرگواروں کے لئے۔

(اس کے بعد جو حاجت بھی ہو پروردگار سے طلب کرے۔)

(شیخ کفعمی نے فرمایا کہ نمازوں کے بعد یہ دعا بھی پڑھے )

میں اللہ کی ربوبیت سے، اسلام جیسے دین سے، حضرت محمدؐ جیسے پیغمبر حضرت علیؑ جیسے امام، حسنؑ امام حسینؑ،علیؑ و محمدؑ، جعفر ؑ و موسیٰؑ، علیؑ ومحمدؑ، علیؑ و حسنؑ اور حضرت خلف صالحؑ جیسے ائمہ کی امامت و سیادت و قیادت سے راضی ہوں ان سے محبت کرتا ہوں اور ان کے دشمنوں سے بیزاری رکھتا ہوں۔

(اس کے بعد تین مرتبہ کہے)

خدایا میں تجھ سے معافی، عافیت اور دنیاو آخرت میں ہر طرح کی آسائش کا سوال کر رہا ہوں۔

After you say the Taslim statement - the closing part of the ritual prayers - and accomplish your prayer, repeat the Takbir statement (i.e. Allahu akbar; Allah is the Greatest) three times while raising your hands to the level of your ears and then say:

There is no god save Allah; One and Only God; and we are submissive to Him. There is no god save Allah and we worship none save Him, making our devotion sincere as in His sight, even though the polytheists may detest it. There is no god save Allah; (He is) Our Lord and the Lord of our fathers of old. There is no god save Allah; Alone, alone, alone. He has truly fulfilled His promise, granted His servant victory, made powerful His soldiers, and defeated the parties alone. So, sovereignty be His and praise be His. He grants life and causes (others) to die, and (then) causes to die and raises from the dead; while He is eternally ever-living and He never dies. All goodness is at His Hand, and He has power over all things.

Then, say the following:

I seek forgiveness of Allah; there is no god save Him, the Ever-living and Self-Subsisting; and to Him do I turn in repentance.

Then, say the following:

O Allah, (please do) guide me to the true guidance of Yours, pour upon me from Your grace, spread over me from Your mercy, and bring down upon me from Your blessings. Glory be to You; there is no god save You. (Please) forgive my sins—all of them entirely, because none can forgive all sins entirely save You. O Allah, I beseech You to grant me part of all good things that are encompassed by Your knowledge and I seek Your protection against all evils that are encompassed by Your knowledge. O Allah, I beseech You to grant me wellbeing from You in all of my affairs and I seek Your protection against the disgrace of this world and the chastisement in the Next World. I also seek protection of Your Noble Face, Your invulnerable omnipotence, and Your power that none can deter against the evils of this world and the Next World, the evils of all pains, and the evil of all moving creatures that You grasp from forelocks. Verily, my Lord is on a Straight Path. There is neither strength nor power save with Allah, the All-high and All-great. I put my trust in the Ever-living (Lord) Who never dies. All praise be to Allah Who has not taken to Himself a son, nor has He had any partner in sovereignty, nor does He need any to protect Him from humiliation. And magnify Him with all magnificence.

Then, utter the Tasbih al-Zahra’ litany (which is discussed in the attached book of al-Baqiyat al-Salihat).

Before you move from your prayer-place, repeat the following litany ten times:

I bear witness that there is no god save Allah; (He is) One and Only; and there is no partner with Him; a Single God; One, Unique, and eternally Besought of all. He has taken to Himself neither a wife nor a son.

It is narrated that a great reward is obtained by saying this litany, especially after the Dawn (Fajr) and Evening (Isha’) obligatory Prayers and at sunrise and sunset.

Then, say the following:

All Glory be to Allah whenever Allah is glorified by things, as exactly as Allah likes to be glorified, as exactly as He is worthy of glorification, and as it is suitable for the nobility of His Face and the might of His Majesty. All praise be to Allah whenever Allah is praised by things, as exactly as Allah likes to be praised, as exactly as He is worthy of praising, and as it is suitable for the nobility of His Face and the might of His Majesty. There is no god save Allah whenever Allah’s Oneness in Godhead is professed, as exactly as Allah likes His Oneness in Godhead to be professed, as exactly as He is worthy of being the One and Only God, and as it is suitable for the nobility of His Face and the might of His Majesty. Allah is the Greatest whenever Allah’s Most Greatness is professed, as exactly as Allah likes His Most Greatness to be professed, as exactly as He is worthy of being the Greatest, and as it is suitable for the nobility of His Face and the might of His Majesty. All glory be to Allah; all praise be to Allah; there is no god save Allah; and Allah is the Greatest for all bounties that He has bestowed upon me and upon each and every being of His creatures, including those who passed away and those who will exist up to the Resurrection Day. O Allah, I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and I beseech You to grant me the best of what I hope and the best of what I have not included with my hopes. I also beseech You to protect me against the evil of what I anticipate and the evils of what I do not anticipate.

Then, recite the following Quranic texts:

(1) Surah al-Hamd (i.e. al-Faatehah No. 1), (2) Ayah al-Kursi (2:255-257), (3) Verses of Bearing Witness (Ayat al-Shahadah; 3:18-19), (4) Verses of Kingdom (Ayah al-Mulk; 3:26-27), and (5) Verses of Subservience (Ayah al-Sakharah 7:54-56).

Then, repeat the following verses (Surah al-Saaffaat 37:180-183) three times:

Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. And peace be on the messengers. And all praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds.

Then, repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times:

O Allah, (Please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, cause all my affairs to arrive at a relief, prepare for me a way out, and give me sustenance from whence I think and from whence I do not think.

This supplicatory prayer was taught by Archangel Gabriel to Prophet Yusuf (Joseph) - peace be upon him - when he was in prison.

Then, hold your beard with your right hand, raise your left hand towards the sky, and repeat the following supplicatory prayer seven times:

O Lord of Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad: (Please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad and hasten the Relief of the Household of Muhammad.

Keeping on the same situation, repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times:

O Lord of Majesty and Honor, (Please) send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad have mercy upon me, and deliver me from Hellfire.

After repeating Surah al-Ikhlaas (or al-Tawheed; No. 112) twelve times, say the following supplicatory prayer:

O Allah, I beseech You in Your Name: the well-guarded, stored, pure, immaculate, and blessed. And I beseech You in Your Great Name and Your eternal power. O Donor of gifts! O Releaser of captives! O Deliverer of necks from the Fire! I beseech You to send blessings to Muhammad and the Household of Muhammad, to deliver me from the Fire, to cause me leave this world free (from liabilities), to allow me to Paradise with security, and to make the beginning of my prayer successful, the middle of it a gain, and the end of it a prosperity. Verily, You are the Knower of all unseen things.

According to al-Sahifah al-Alawiyyah (a collection of Imam Ali’s supplications), the following supplicatory prayer is advisably said after the obligatory prayers:

O He Who is not distracted by a sound from hearing another sound! O He Who is not confused by the beseechers! O He Who is not annoyed by the insistence of those who entreat Him persistently! (Please do) Make me taste the nice flavor of Your pardon and the sweetness of Your mercy and forgiveness.

You may also say the following supplicatory prayer:

O Allah, This is my prayer that I have just offered on account of neither a need that You may have for it nor a desire that You may have for it; rather, it is only glorification of You, obedience to You, and response to You to carry out what You have ordered me to do. O my God: If there is a defect or a deficiency in my prayer, whether in the genuflection or the prostration; then, (please) do not reproach me for it; rather, confer upon me with Your acceptance (of it) and forgiveness (of me).

After accomplishment of the ritual prayers, you may also say the following supplicatory prayer, which the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) taught to Imam Ali Ameer al-Momineen (a.s.) for developing memory:

Glory be to Him Who does not treat the people of His realm with transgression! Glory be to Him Who does not inflict on the inhabitants of the earth various sorts of torture! Glory be to the Affectionate, the Merciful! O Allah, (please) fill my heart with illumination, discernment, (faculty of) understanding, and knowledge. Verily, You have power over all things.

Al-Kaf’ami, in his book of al-Misbah, cites that it is advisable to repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times after obligatory prayers:

I seek for myself, my religion, my family members, my possessions, my descendants, my brethren-in-faith, all sustenance that my Lord has provided to me as sustenance, the results of my deeds, and whomever I may concern about, (I seek for all these) the protection of Allah, the Single, the One, and the eternally Besought of all Who begets not, nor is He begotten; and the like of Whom there is none. And [I seek the protection of] the Lord of the dawn from the evil of what He has created, the evil of the utterly dark night when it comes, the evil of those who blow on knots, and the evil of the envious when he envies. And [I seek the protection of] the Lord of men, the King of men, the God of men, from the evil of the whisperings of the slinking (Satan), who whispers into the hearts of men from among the jinn and the men.

It is narrated in an inscription handwritten by Shaykh al-Shahid that the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.a.) said: Whoever desires that Almighty Allah will not show him his evildoings (that he did in this world) on the Resurrection Day and will not open the record of his evildoings, should say the following supplicatory prayer after each obligatory prayer:

O Allah, Truly, I hope for Your forgiveness more than I trust my deed. Your mercy is verily more expansive than my sin. O Allah, If my sin is graye in Your view, then Your pardon is greater than my sin. O Allah, If I do not deserve to attain Your mercy, then Your mercy is so liberal that it can reach and include me, because it has included all things; [Let it be] by Your mercy; O most Merciful of all those who show mercy.

Ibn Baabwayh (i.e. Shaykh al-Saduq) holds that one should say the following litany immediately after uttering Tasbih al-Zahra’:

O Allah, You are the [source of] peace, peace is coming from You, peace is for You, and to You does peace belong. Glory be to your Lord, the Lord of Honor, above what they describe. Peace be on the messengers. All praise is due to Allah, the Lord of the worlds. Peace be upon you, O Prophet. Allah’s mercy and blessings be upon you. Peace be upon the Imams; the guides and well-guided. Peace be upon all Prophets, Messengers, and angels of Allah. Peace be upon us and upon the righteous servants of Allah. Peace be upon 'Ali, the Commander of the Believers. Peace be upon al- Hasan and al-Husayn, the two chiefs of all the youth of Paradise. Peace be upon 'Ali the son of al-Husayn, the Adornment of the Worshippers. Peace be upon Muhammad the son of 'Ali, the splitter of the knowledge of the Prophets. Peace be upon Ja'far the son of Muhammad, the veracious. Peace be upon Musa the son of Ja'far, the suppressor of rage. Peace be upon 'Ali the son of Musa, the amiable. Peace be upon Muhammad the son of 'Ali, the magnanimous. Peace be upon 'Ali the son of Muhammad, the guide. Peace be upon al- Hasan the son of 'Ali, the bright and resident of 'Askar. Peace be upon the Argument (of Allah), the son of al-Hasan, the Assumer and the well-guided. Blessings of Allah be upon them all.

After saying this litany, one may pray Almighty Allah to grant him all his personal desires.

Shaykh al-Kaf’ami has also said that one should utter the following litany after the accomplishment of the obligatory prayers:

I have submitted to Allah being my Lord, to Islam being my religion, to Muhammad—peace be upon him and his Household—being the Prophet, to 'Ali being my leader, to al-Hasan, al-Husayn, 'Ali, Muhammad, Ja'far, Musa, 'Ali, Muhammad, 'Ali, al-Hasan, and the Righteous Successor—peace be upon them all- being my Imams, masters, and leaders. Only them should I follow and their enemies will I disavow.

You should then repeat the following supplicatory prayer three times:

O Allah, I ask You for amnesty, good health, and wellbeing in this world as well as the Next World.
