1). Imam Ja`far al-Sadiq (as) has reported the Holy Prophet (saws) as saying: Rajab is the month of imploring for forgiveness for my people; so, you should implore forgiveness repeatedly as below in this month much more than you do in other months

100/1000- times daily

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ وَ أَسْأَلُهُ التَّوْبَةَ

میں خدا سے بخشش چاہتا ہوں اور توبہ کی توفیق مانگتا ہوں

I ask Allah for forgiveness and I pray to Him to accept my repentance.

2). Daily observance for Rajab, Shaban & Ramadhan al-Mubarak. Repeat the following 3 times) each morning & evening for forgiveness

i. Surah Fatiha

ii. Ayat ul kursi

iii. Surah Ikhlas

iv. Surah Kafirun

v.Surah Falaq

vi. Surah Nas

سُبْحانَ اللّٰهِ، وَالْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ، وَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلّا اللّٰهُ، وَاللّٰهُ أَكْبَرُ، وَلا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلّا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ

خدا پاک ہے اور حمد اسی کیلئے ہے خدا کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں اور اللہ بزرگ تر ہے اور نہیں کوئی طاقت و قوت مگر وہ جو بلند و بزرگ خدا سے ہے

All glory be to Allah; all praise be to Allah;there is no god but Allah; Allah is the Greatest; and there is no might and no strength save with Allah, the All-high the All-great.

اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ

اے معبود ! محمدؐ و آل محمدؑ پر رحمت نازل فرما

O Allah bless Muhammad and his family

اللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِناتِ

اے معبود! مومن مردوں اور مومن عورتوں کو بخش دے

Allah please forgive the believing men & women

Repeat 400 times

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّهَ وَأَتُوبُ إلَيْهِ

میں خدا سے بخشش چاہتا ہوں اور اسی کی طرف پلٹتا ہوں

I repent before HIM

3). 70 x morning and 70 x evening A Hadith reads that whoever repeats the following imploration for forgiveness 70 times in the morning and 70 times in the evening on each day in Rajab, will be admitted by Almighty Allah if he dies in Rajab and Hellfire will not touch him on account of the blessings of Rajab:

اسْتَغْفِرُ ٱللَّهَ وَاتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ

بخشش چاہتا ہوں اور اسی کے حضور توبہ کرتا ہوں

I implore the forgiveness of Allah and I repent to Him.

And then raise your hands and say:

اللّٰهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِي وَتُبْ عَلَيَّ

اے معبود! مجھے بخش دے اور توبہ قبول کر لے

O Allah, (please do) forgive me and accept my repentance.

4). 100/1000 time Surah Tawhid daily It has been narrated that the Holy Prophet (saws) said, “One who recites Surah al-Tawheed 100 times at one night in Rajab will be decided to have fasted for one hundred years for the sake of Almighty Allah Who will also decide for him one hundred palaces (in Paradise) in the vicinity of one of the Prophets.”

3). If one is incapable of fasting during the Rajab month recite the following instead 100 times each day :

سُبْحانَ الْإِلٰهِ الْجَلِيلِ سُبْحانَ مَنْ لَايَنْبَغِى التَّسْبِيحُ إِلّا لَهُ سُبْحانَ الْأَعَزِّ الْأَكْرَمِ ! سُبْحانَ مَنْ لَبِسَ الْعِزَّ وَهُوَ لَهُ أَهْلٌ

پاک ہے جو معبود بڑی شان والا ہے پاک ہے وہ کہ جس کے سوا کوئی لائق تسبیح نہیں پاک ہے وہ جو بڑا عزت والا اور بزرگی والا ہے پاک ہے وہ جو لباس عزت میں ملبوس ہے اور وہی اس کا اہل ہے۔

Glory be to the magnificent God. Glory be to Him, for other than whom glorification is not fitting. Glory be to the Mightiest and the Noblest. Glory be to Him, to whom honour and might belong and is worthy of it.

5). Fast (Thursday, Friday, Saturday)- It is recommended to fast on three days in the month of Rajab: Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. It has been narrated that one who fasts on these three days in one of the Sacred Months will be awarded with the reward of nine hundred year worship.

6). 100/400 times in Rajab Holy Prophet (saws) is reported as saying: Whoever repeats the following imploration for forgiveness 100 times in Rajab and immediately gives alms after it, Almighty Allah will conclude his life with mercy and forgiveness. And, whoever repeats it 400 times, will be given the reward of one hundred martyrs

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ الَّذِي لَاإِلٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ وَحْدَهُ لَاشَرِيكَ لَهُ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ.

بخشش چاہتا ہوں اللہ سے کہ جس کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں وہ یگانہ ہے اس کا کوئی شریک نہیں اور میں اس کے حضور توبہ کرتا ہوں۔

Transalation: I implore the forgiveness of Allah. There is no god except Him, the One and Only Who has no partner, and I repent before Him.

7). x 1000 in Rajab It was narrated from the Messenger of Allah that whoever says La ilaha illa Allah a thousand times in the month of Rajab , Allah Almighty will write a thousand good deeds for him and build a hundred cities for him in Paradise.

لا إِلَهَ إِلا اللَّهُ

There is no god but Allah.

8). x 1000 in Rajab It is recommended to implore Almighty Allah for forgiveness in the following form one thousand times in Rajab so that He will forgive:

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ ذَا الْجَلالِ وَ الْإِكْرَامِ مِنْ جَمِيعِ الذُّنُوبِ وَ الْآثَامِ

بخشش چاہتا ہوں خدا سے جو صاحب جلالت و بزرگی ہے اپنے تمام گناہوں اور خطاؤں پر طالب عفو ہوں۔

I implore Allah, the Lord of majesty and honor, to forgive my all sins and offenses.

1). Nightly 2 rak’at Rajab prayerIt is recommended that one offers 60 raka’at of prayer during this month in the following manner. Every night offer two rak’ats, reciting al-Fatihah once, Sulrat al-Kafirun thrice and Surat al-Tawhid once in every rak’at.

Ist unit: Recite Surah Hamd once, Surat al-Kafirun x 3 and Surat Tawhid x 1
2nd unit: Recite Surah Hamd, Surat al-Kafirun x 3 and Surat Tawhid x 1

After Namaz - After giving salam, raise your hands and say,

لَا إِلٰهَ إِلّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَاشَرِيكَ لَهُ، لَهُ الْمُلْكُ وَلَهُ الْحَمْدُ، يُحْيِى وَيُمِيتُ وَهُوَ حَيٌّ لَايَمُوتُ، بِيَدِهِ الْخَيْرُ، وَهُوَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَىْءٍ قَدِيرٌ، وَ إِلَيْهِ الْمَصِيرُ، وَلَا حَوْلَ وَلَا قُوَّةَ إِلّا بِاللّٰهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ، اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَىٰ مُحَمَّدٍ النَّبِيِّ الْأُمِّيِّ وَآلِهِ

اللہ کے سوا کوئی معبود نہیں جو یکتا ہے کوئی اس کا شریک نہیں حکومت اسی کی اور حمد اسی کیلئے ہے وہ زندہ کرتا اور موت دیتا ہے وہ زندہ ہے اسے موت نہیں ہر بھلائی اس کے ہاتھ میں ہے اور وہ ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے اور بازگشت اسی کی طرف ہے نہیں کوئی طاقت و قوت مگر جو بلند و بزرگ خدا سے ہے اے معبود ! نبی امّی محمدؐ پر اور ان کی آلؑ پر رحمت فرما۔

‘There is no god besides Allah, He is One, and has no partner. To Him belongs all sovereignty and to Him belongs all praise, He gives life and cause, death, and He is the Living One who never dies. All choice lies in His hands, and He has power over all things, and to Him is the return. There is no power or force except what proceeds from Allah, the AII-exalted, the All-supreme. O Allah, send salutations upon Muhammad, the untaught prophet, and his Family,

Then draw your hands over your face. It has been narrated from the Apostle of Allah (sa) that the Almighty God shal1 answer the petitions of someone who carries out this observance and grant him a thawab of sixty hajj and sixty ‘umrah pilgrimages.

2). Reward of a Fast with a 4 rak’at prayer in RajabThe Sayyid cites a tradition according to which someone who observes a day’s fast during Rajab and offers four rak’ats of prayer, reciting the Ayat al-Kursi 100 times in the first rak’at and Surat al- Tawhid 200 times in the second, shall not die before he himself, or someone else, is shown his place in paradise.

The second two rak’ats will be as above.

3). 2 unit Night namaz Holy Prophet(saws) said: “One who recites Sura Ikhlass 100 times( 50 X 2) in 2 rakats of prayer in a single night of the month of rajab ,is like he who has fasted for 100 years.....: Ref Mafatih 18 of gen acts of Rajab,].

4). 10 unit Night namaz Holy Prophet(saws) said: “Allāh will forgive all the sins of those who offer a ten rak'at prayer, at one night in Rajab, reciting in each rakat; Surah Al Fatihah once +Surah Kaferoon once + Surah Tawheed three times.” [Reference: Mafatih 19 0f gen acts of Rajab,].

Recite after every wajib prayer (Ya Man Arjohu)
Sayyid Ibn Tawus reports this supplication from Muhammad b. Dhakwan, known as ‘Sajjad’ due to his prolonged prostrations. So much did he prostrate and weep during his prostrations that he lost his eyesight. This narrator says, “l said to Imam Ja’far al-Sadiq (as), ‘May I be made your ransom, this ls the month of Rajab. Teach me a supplication whereby God will grant me some benefit. The Imam said to him, ‘Write down, in the Name of Allah the All-beneficent and the All-merciful, and make this supplication every day during Rajab, morning and evening after the daily and nightly prayers:

يَا مَنْ أَرْجُوهُ لِكُلِّ خَيْرٍ، وَآمَنُ سَخَطَهُ عِنْدَ كُلِّ شَرٍّ، يَا مَنْ يُعْطِى الْكَثِيرَ بِالْقَلِيلِ، يَا مَنْ يُعْطِى مَنْ سَأَلَهُ، يَا مَنْ يُعْطِى مَنْ لَمْ يَسْأَلْهُ وَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْرِفْهُ تَحَنُّناً مِنْهُ وَرَحْمَةً، أَعْطِنِى بِمَسْأَلَتِى إِيَّاكَ جَمِيعَ خَيْرِ الدُّنْيا وَجَمِيعَ خَيْرِ الْآخِرَةِ، وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّى بِمَسْأَلَتِى إِيَّاكَ جَمِيعَ شَرِّ الدُّنْيا وَشَرِّ الْآخِرَةِ، فَإِنَّهُ غَيْرُ مَنْقُوصٍ مَا أَعْطَيْتَ، وَزِدْنِى مِنْ فَضْلِكَ يَا كَرِيمُ

You from whom I expect every good, and seek safety from Your displeasure in the face of every evil! You who give abundantly for that which is insignificant to You who grant to whomever that requests You, O You who give also to those who neither ask You, nor know You, out of Your compassion and mercy! Grant me, by virtue of my petition to You, all the good of the world and the Hereafter! ‘Save me, by virtue of my petition, from all the evils of this world and the Hereafter, for what You give is not insufficient, and enhance me out of Your grace, O All-munificent One!”

اے وہ جس سے ہر بھلائی کی امید رکھتا ہوں اور ہر برائی کے وقت اس کے غضب سے امان چاہتا ہوں اے وہ جو تھوڑے عمل پر زیادہ اجر دیتا ہے اے وہ جو ہر سوال کرنے والے کو دیتا ہے اے وہ جو اسے بھی دیتا ہے جو سوال نہیں کرتا اور اسے بھی دیتا ہے جو اسے نہیں پہچانتا احسان و رحمت کے طور پر تو مجھے بھی میرے سوال پر دنیا و آخرت کی تمام بھلائیاں اور نیکیاں عطا فرما دے اور میری طلبگاری پر دنیا و آخرت کی تمام تکلیفیں اور مشکلیں دور کر کے مجھے محفوظ فرما دے کیونکہ تو جتنا عطا کرے تیرے ہاں کمی نہیں پڑتی اے کریم تو مجھ پر اپنے فضل میں اضافہ فرما۔‎

The narrator says, “As the Imam recited this supplication in an entreating manner, he gently held his beard with his left hand while moving the index finger of his right hand’ Then he added’

يَا ذَا الْجَلالِ وَالْإِكْرامِ، يَا ذَا النَّعْماءِ وَالْجُودِ،يَا ذَا الْمَنِّ وَالطَّوْلِ
حَرِّمْ شَيْبَتِي عَلَى النَّارِ

اے صاحب جلالت و بزرگی اے نعمتوں اور بخشش کے مالک اے صاحب احسان و عطا میرے سفید بالوں کو آگ پر حرام فرما دے

O Majestic and Munificent One! O All-generous bestower of blessings, O dispenser of favors and bounties, save my grey hair from the Fire!

(5). Prayers on Friday – Between Dhuhr & Asr Sayyid lbn Tawus has narrated’ a tradition of the Apostle of Allah (sa) according to which someone who offers a four rak’at prayer between Dhuhr and ‘Asr on Friday during the month of Rajab, reciting al-Fatihah once, Ayat al-Kursi 7 times, followed by Suirat al-Tawhid 5 times and the following istighfar 10 times, will be granted by God Almighty a reward of 1000 good deeds every day, from the day he offers this prayer until the day he dies, and that for every ayah that he recites, for every letter God shall build for him a city in the Paradise made of red rubies and a palace built of white pearls and wed him to a houri, and He shall be pleased with him, not to be displeased again, and his name will be written among the devout and his life shall conclude in felicity and pardon.

Niyyat – Qurbatan ilaAllah
Rak’at 1 – Surat al-Hamd + Ayat al-Kursi x 7 + Surat Tawhid x 5
Rak’at 2 – Surat al-Hamd + Ayat al-Kursi x 7 + Surat Tawhid x 5

The second two rak’ats will be as above.

After prayer, recite the following :

أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللّٰهَ الَّذِي لَاإِلٰهَ إِلّا هُوَ وَأَسْأَلُهُ التَّوْبَةَ.

I implore for Allah’s forgiveness and I pray to Him for accepting of my repentance

Last Friday of Rajab

Ayatullah Mullah Muhammad Baqir Fishkari(ra) in his booklet for the Amal's of Rajab, Shaban and Ramadan writes that a persons life increases by 11 years if this dua is recited on the last Friday of the month of Rajab

يَا أَجَلَّ مِنْ كُلِّ جَلِيْل، يَا أكْرَمَ مِنْ كُلِّ كَرِيْم، وَيَا أَعَزَّ مِنْ كُلِّ عَزِيْز، أغِثنِى يَا غيَات الْمُستَغِيثِينَ بِفَضْلِكَ وَ جُوْدِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ وَ مُدًّ عُمرنَا وَهَب لنامِن لَدُنكَ عَمراً بِالعافيَةِ يَا ذُالْجَلَالِ وَ الْاِكْرَام

اے سب سے افضل، اے سب سے زیادہ سخی، اے سب سے زیادہ عزت والے، میری مدد کر، اے مدد مانگنے والوں کے دروازے، اپنے فضل، اپنی موجودگی، اپنی سخاوت، اور ہماری عمر میں توسیع کر، ہمیں عمر بھر کی بھلائی عطا فرما۔ تیری طرف سے صحت، اے عظمت اور عزت کے مالک۔
