(1). Perform Ghusl in flowing water and splash thirty palmfuls of water on the head. This act brings about security against all pains and ailments up to the next year.

(2). This salaat is highly recommended to say on the ist of every lunar month. (Ist Day Namaz) Ist day Namaz

(3). If one could not recite the 44th Supplication of Sahifa al-Kamilah on the first night of this month, they may recite it on this day.

(4). Recite two rakaats, in the first of which after Sura Hamd recite Sura Fath (Sura no 48), in the second rakat after the recitation of Sura Hamd recite any other Sura. If one offers this prayer, Almighty Allah will save him from all evils and will keep him under His custody up to the next year.

اللَّهُمَّ قَدْ حَضَرَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ وَقَدِ ٱفْتَرضْتَ عَلَيْنَا صِيَامَهُ وَأَنْزَلْتَ فِيهِ ٱلْقُرْآنَ هُدَىً لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ ٱلْهُدَىٰ وَٱلْفُرْقَانِ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنَّا عَلَىٰ صِيَامِهِ وَتَقَبَّلْهُ مِنَّا وَتَسَلَّمْهُ مِنا وَسَلِّمْهُ لَنَا فِي يُسْرٍ مِنْكَ وَعَافِيَةٍ إِنَّكَ عَلَىٰ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ

O Allah, the month of Ramadan has commenced. You have made obligatory upon us to observe fasting during it. You revealed the Qur'an in it as guidance for people and clear proofs of true guidance and distinction (between the right and the wrong). O Allah, (please) help us observe fasting in it, accept it from us, receive it from us (with acceptance), and keep it sound for us with easiness and good health from You. You verily have power over all things.

اے معبود ! ماہ رمضان آ گیا ہے اور تو نے اس کے روزے ہم پر فرض کیے ہیں اس میں تو نے قرآن اتارا ہے جو لوگوں کے لئے ہدایت اور ہدایت کی نشانیاں اور حق و باطل کا فرق کرتا ہے اے معبود ! اس کے روزے رکھنے میں مدد کر اور وہ ہم سے قبول فرما اس کو ہم سے پورا لے اور ہمارے لئے پورا فرما اپنی طرف سے آسانی و سہولت کے ساتھ بیشک تو ہر چیز پر قدرت رکھتا ہے.

Dua for 1st Day by Imam Musa Al Kadhim (peace be upon him) In his book of ‘Zad al-Ma`ad’, `Allamah al-Majlisi has mentioned that al-Kulayniy, al-Tusi, and others, through an authentic series of narrators, have reported Imam Musa al-Kadhim (peace be upon him) as saying, “Say the following supplication on the first day of the month of Ramadhan, for if one prays Almighty Allah with this supplication purely and without associating any false purposes or showing off, he will be saved, throughout that year, from all seditious and misleading matters as well as all afflictions that may injure his religion or his body; and Almighty Allah will save him from the evils of all the misfortunes that will occur in that year.”

زاد المعاد میں علامہ مجلسیؒ نے فرمایا کہ شیخ کلینیؒ و شیخ طوسیؒ اور دیگر بزرگوں نے معتبر سند کے ساتھ روایت کی ہے کہ امام موسٰی کاظمؑ نے فرمایا: ماہ مبارک رمضان میں اول سال یعنی اس ماہ کے پہلے دن جو شخص دکھاوے یا کسی غلط ارادے کے بغیر محض رضائے الٰہی کیلئے اس دعا کو پڑھے تو خدا سال بھر تک فتنہ وفساد اور بدن کو ضرر پہنچانے والی ہر آفت سے محفوظ رکھے گا۔ اور وہ دعا یہ ہے:
