Of the several prescribed Ziyarat of Imam al-Husain (PBUH), one was recited by Imam al-Mahdi (PBUH) and reached us through one of his four special deputies. For that reason, it is known as the Ziyarat that was issued from the sacred side (Ziyarat al-Nahiya al-Muqaddasa).[1] One of the most important features of this Ziyarat is that in different phrases, Imam al-Mahdi (PBUH) graphically describes the events of Ashura and the agony that Imam al-Husain (PBUH) and his family faced on that horrific and ominous day. The text of the Ziyarat al-Nahiya is found in some early Ziyarat collections such as al-Mazar al-Kabir, by Muhammad Ibn Ja’far al-Mash’hadi, pp. 496-513. It is also reported in al-Mazar, by al-Mufid as mentioned in Bihar al-Anwar, vol. 98, pp. 318-329. An overview of the Ziyarat al-Nahiya Since this Ziyarat (as reported in al-Mazar al-Kabir, by al-Mash’hadi) originated from an infallible Imam who is the tongue of Allah, it is replete with divine recognition, guidance, spirituality, knowledge of religion, lessons for humanity, and the historical facts. The method of presentation in this Ziyarat follows the formal method seen in other texts by Ahl al-Bait (PBUT). The text of this Ziyarat can be divided into the following ten major parts: 1- Offering peace and salutations to the Prophets (PBUT) (whose spiritual heir was Imam al-Husain (PBUH)), from the earliest ones up to Prophet Muhammad(PBUH&HF), and then his pure progeny (PBUT) in addition to describing some of their attributes. For instance, we recite: “Peace be upon Adam, the chosen one of Allah from among His creation ...” 2- Offering peace and salutations to the Chief of Martyrs (PBUH) and enumerating some of his spiritual qualities and divine titles: “Peace be upon al-Husain who sacrificed himself up to the last drops of the blood of his heart. Peace be upon him, who obeyed Allah secretly and openly... Peace be upon the son of the Garden of refuge. Peace be upon the son of Zamzam and al-Safaa. Peace be upon him who was saturated in (his) blood ...” 3- Sending salutations to the martyrs of Karbala, in general, who sacrificed their selves for the divine cause: “Peace be upon the bloodstained chests... Peace be upon the pallid bodies... Peace be upon the dismembered limbs. Peace be upon the heads raised upon lances ...” 4- Stating the motivations, wishes, and aims for visiting Imam al-Husain (PBUH): “Peace be upon you! Indeed, I intended your visitation and am hopeful of achieving the prosperity that is with you. Salutations to you, salutations from he who recognizes your sanctity, is a sincere (believer) in your guardianship, seeks nearness to Allah through your love, and is aloof from your enemies ...” 5- Bearing witness to the Imam’s exemplary way of conduct: “I bear witness that you certainly established prayer, gave alms, enjoined good, forbade evil and transgression, obeyed Allah, never disobeyed Him, held fast to Him and to His rope, pleased Him, and held Him in awe ...” 6- Explaining the Imam’s method of opposing evil: “when tyranny became wide-spread, injustice removed its veil, wickedness called upon its followers... the knowledge demanded you for disavowal (of falsehood), and made it incumbent on you to struggle against the deviant. Therefore, you set out in company of your children, kinsfolk, followers, and supporters, disclosed the truth and clear proofs, summoned people towards Allah with wisdom and fine exhortation ...” 7- Presenting some of the calamities and afflictions that befell the Imam, and describing his martyrdom and the capture of his family: “The enemy then surrounded you from all sides, weakened you by inflicting wounds, while you did not have any helper left, and you were bereaved yet patient ...” 8- Enumerating the depth of the crime: “Certainly, by killing you, they have killed Islam, disrupted (the truth of) prayer and fasting, revoked the (prophetic) customs and the (divine) laws... Certainly, (by this event,) the Messenger of Allah (PBUH&HF) was wronged, left alone, and denied vengeance, the Book of Allah, the mighty and the majestic, was again abandoned ...” 9- Relating the mourning ceremonies of the Prophets, Angels, and the cosmos: “Indeed, the Messenger (PBUH&HF) became distressed and his depressed heart wept. The Angels and the Prophets offered their condolences to him for your martyrdom. Your mother, al-Zahra, became distressed and bereft of you. Legions of Angels came in waves to offer their condolences to your father, the Leader of the Faithful ...” 10- Praying to Allah and imploring Him: “O Allah! By the sanctity of this exalted place (the tomb of Imam al-Husain (PBUH)), bestow blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, assemble me in their company, and admit me to Paradise by their intercession ...” A blend of wisdom, cognizance, spirituality, ethics, elegy, enthusiasm, devotion, along with a detailed account of the events has made this divinely inspired Ziyarat, one of the most insightful Ziyarat of Imam al-Husain (PBUH) for the followers of Ahl al-Bait (PBUT). In what follows, the Arabic text alongside its English translation and transliteration of the original Ziyarat al-Nahiya as reported in al-Mazar al-Kabir, by Muhammad Ibn al-Mash’hadi, is presented. May Allah hasten the advent of Imam Mahdi (PBUH), the reviver of the religion of Allah, the avenger of the blood of the Chief of Martyrs (PBUH) from the oppressors, and the establisher of peace and justice over the globe.

لِزِيَارَتِكَ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ فَإِنِّي قَصَدْتُ إِلَيْكَ وَ رَجَوْتُ الْفَوْزَ لَدَيْكَ. السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ، سَلَامَ الْعَارِفِ بِحُرْمَتِكَ، الْمُخْلِصِ فِي وَلَايَتِكَ، الْمُتَقَرِّبِ إِلَى اللَّهِ بِمَحَبَّتِكَ، الْبَرِي‏ءِ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكَ، سَلَامَ مَنْ قَلْبُهُ بِمُصَابِكَ مَقْرُوحٌ، وَ دَمْعُهُ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِكَ مَسْفُوحٌ، سَلَامَ الْمَفْجُوعِ الْمَحْزُونِ، الْوَالِهِ الْمُسْتَكِينِ. سَلَامَ مَنْ لَوْ كَانَ مَعَكَ بِالطُّفُوفِ لَوَقَاكَ بِنَفْسِهِ حَدَّ السُّيُوفِ، وَ بَذَلَ حُشَاشَتَهُ‏ دُونَكَ لِلْحُتُوفِ‏ ، وَ جَاهَدَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ، وَ نَصَرَكَ عَلَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَيْكَ، وَ فَدَاكَ بِرُوحِهِ وَ جَسَدِهِ، وَ مَالِهِ وَ وُلْدِهِ، وَ رُوحُهُ لِرُوحِكَ فِدَاءٌ، وَ أَهْلُهُ لِأَهْلِكَ وِقَاءٌ. فَلَئِنْ أَخَّرَتْنِي الدُّهُورُ، وَ عَاقَنِي عَنْ نَصْرِكَ الْمَقْدُورُ، وَ لَمْ أَكُنْ لِمَنْ حَارَبَكَ مُحَارِباً، وَ لِمَنْ نَصَبَ لَكَ الْعَدَاوَةَ مُنَاصِباً، فَلَأَنْدُبَنَّكَ صَبَاحاً وَ مَسَاءً، وَ لَأَبْكِيَنَّ عَلَيْكَ بَدَلَ الدُّمُوعِ دَماً، حَسْرَةً عَلَيْكَ وَ تَأَسُّفاً عَلَى مَا دَهَاكَ وَ تَلَهُّفاً، حَتَّى أَمُوتَ بِلَوْعَةِ الْمُصَابِ وَ غُصَّةِ الِاكْتِيَابِ‏ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ قَدْ أَقَمْتَ الصَّلَاةَ، وَ آتَيْتَ الزَّكَاةَ، وَ أَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ، وَ نَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَ الْعُدْوَانِ، وَ أَطَعْتَ اللَّهَ وَ مَا عَصَيْتَهُ، وَ تَمَسَّكْتَ بِهِ وَ بِحَبْلِهِ فَأَرْضَيْتَهُ، وَ خَشْيَتَهُ‏ وَ رَاقَبْتَهُ وَ اسْتَجَبْتَهُ، وَ سَنَنْتَ السُّنَنَ، وَ أَطْفَأْتَ الْفِتَنَ، وَ دَعَوْتَ إِلَى الرَّشَادِ، وَ أَوْضَحْتَ سُبُلَ السَّدَادِ، وَ جَاهَدْتَ فِي اللَّهِ حَقَّ الْجِهَادِ. وَ كُنْتَ لِلَّهِ طَائِعاً، وَ لِجَدِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ تَابِعاً، وَ لِقَوْلِ أَبِيكَ سَامِعاً، وَ إِلَى وَصِيَّةِ أَخِيكَ مُسَارِعاً، وَ لِعِمَادِ الدِّينِ رَافِعاً، وَ لِلطُّغْيَانِ قَامِعاً، وَ لِلطُّغَاةِ مُقَارِعاً، وَ لِلْأُمَّةِ نَاصِحاً. وَ فِي غَمَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ سَابِحاً، وَ لِلْفُسَّاقِ مُكَافِحاً ، وَ بِحُجَجِ اللَّهِ قَائِماً، وَ لِلْإِسْلَامِ وَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ رَاحِماً، وَ لِلْحَقِّ نَاصِراً، وَ عِنْدَ الْبَلَاءِ صَابِراً، وَ لِلدِّينِ كَالِئاً، وَ عَنْ حَوْزَتِهِ مُرَامِياً، وَ عَنْ شَرِيعَتِهِ مُحَامِياً. تَحُوطُ الْهُدَى وَ تَنْصُرُهُ، وَ تَبْسُطُ الْعَدْلَ وَ تَنْشُرُهُ، وَ تَنْصُرُ الدِّينَ وَ تُظْهِرُهُ، وَ تَكُفُّ الْعَابِثَ وَ تَزْجُرُهُ، وَ تَأْخُذُ لِلدَّنِيِّ مِنَ الشَّرِيفِ، وَ تُسَاوِي فِي الْحُكْمِ بَيْنَ الْقَوِيِّ وَ الضَّعِيفِ. كُنْتَ رَبِيعَ الْأَيْتَامِ، وَ عِصْمَةَ الْأَنَامِ، وَ عِزَّ الْإِسْلَامِ، وَ مَعْدِنَ الْأَحْكَامِ، وَ حَلِيفَ الْإِنْعَامِ، سَالِكاً طَرَائِقَ جَدِّكَ وَ أَبِيكَ، مُشْبِهاً فِي الْوَصِيَّةِ لِأَخِيكَ، وَفِيَّ الذِّمَمِ، رَضِيَّ الشِّيَمِ‏ ، ظَاهِرَ الْكَرَمِ، مُتَهَجِّداً فِي الظُّلَمِ، قَوِيمَ الطَّرَائِقِ‏ ، كَرِيمَ الْخَلَائِقِ، عَظِيمَ السَّوَابِقِ، شَرِيفَ النَّسَبِ، مُنِيفَ الْحَسَبِ، رَفِيعَ الرُّتَبِ، كَثِيرَ الْمَنَاقِبِ، مَحْمُودَ الضَّرَائِبِ‏ ، جَزِيلَ الْمَوَاهِبِ، حَلِيمٌ رَشِيدٌ مُنِيبٌ، جَوَادٌ عَلِيمٌ شَدِيدٌ، إِمَامٌ شَهِيدٌ، أَوَّاهٌ مُنِيبٌ، حَبِيبٌ مَهِيبٌ. كُنْتَ لِلرَّسُولِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ وَلَداً، وَ لِلْقُرْآنِ مُنْقِذاً، وَ لِلْأُمَّةِ عَضُداً، وَ فِي الطَّاعَةِ مُجْتَهِداً، حَافِظاً لِلْعَهْدِ وَ الْمِيثَاقِ، نَاكِباً عَنْ سُبُلِ الْفُسَّاقِ، بَاذِلًا لِلْمَجْهُودِ، طَوِيلَ الرُّكُوعِ وَ السُّجُودِ. زَاهِداً فِي الدُّنْيَا زُهْدَ الرَّاحِلِ عَنْهَا، نَاظِراً إِلَيْهَا بِعَيْنِ الْمُسْتَوْحِشِينَ مِنْهَا، آمَالُكَ عَنْهَا مَكْفُوفَةٌ، وَ هِمَّتُكَ عَنْ زِينَتِهَا مَصْرُوفَةٌ، وَ أَلْحَاظُكَ عَنْ بَهْجَتِهَا مَطْرُوفَةٌ، وَ رَغْبَتُكَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مَعْرُوفَةٌ. حَتَّى إِذَا الْجَوْرُ مَدَّ بَاعَهُ، وَ أَسْفَرَ الظُّلْمُ قِنَاعَهُ، وَ دَعَا الْغَيُّ أَتْبَاعَهُ، وَ أَنْتَ فِي حَرَمِ جَدِّكَ قَاطِنٌ، وَ لِلظَّالِمِينَ مُبَايِنٌ، جَلِيسُ الْبَيْتِ وَ الْمِحْرَابِ، مُعْتَزِلٌ عَنِ اللَّذَّاتِ وَ الشَّهَوَاتِ، تُنْكِرُ الْمُنْكَرَ بِقَلْبِكَ وَ لِسَانِكَ، عَلَى قَدْرِ طَاقَتِكَ وَ إِمْكَانِكَ. ثُمَّ اقْتَضَاكَ الْعِلْمُ لِلْإِنْكَارِ، وَ لَزِمَكَ أَنْ تُجَاهِدَ الْفُجَّارَ، فَسِرْتَ فِي أَوْلَادِكَ وَ أَهَالِيكَ، وَ شِيعَتِكَ وَ مَوَالِيكَ، وَ صَدَعْتَ بِالْحَقِّ وَ الْبَيِّنَةِ، وَ دَعَوْتَ إِلَى اللَّهِ‏ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَ الْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ، وَ أَمَرْتَ بِإِقَامَةِ الْحُدُودِ، وَ الطَّاعَةِ لِلْمَعْبُودِ، وَ نَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْخَبَائِثِ وَ الطُّغْيَانِ، وَ وَاجَهُوكَ بِالظُّلْمِ وَ الْعُدْوَانِ. فَجَاهَدْتَهُمْ بَعْدَ الإيعاظ [الْإِيعَادِ] لَهُمْ، وَ تَأْكِيدِ الْحُجَّةِ عَلَيْهِمْ، فَنَكَثُوا ذِمَامَكَ وَ بَيْعَتَكَ، وَ أَسْخَطُوا رَبَّكَ وَ جَدَّكَ، وَ بَدَءُوكَ بِالْحَرْبِ، فَثَبَتَّ لِلطَّعْنِ وَ الضَّرْبِ، وَ طَحَنْتَ‏ جُنُودَ الْفُجَّارِ، وَ اقْتَحَمْتَ قَسْطَلَ‏ الْغُبَارِ، مُجَالِداً بِذِي الْفَقَارِ، كَأَنَّكَ عَلِيٌّ الْمُخْتَارُ. فَلَمَّا رَأَوْكَ ثَابِتَ الْجَأْشِ، غَيْرَ خَائِفٍ وَ لَا خَاشٍ، نَصَبُوا لَكَ غَوَائِلَ مَكْرِهِمْ، وَ قَاتَلُوكَ بِكَيْدِهِمْ وَ شَرِّهِمْ، وَ أَمَرَ اللَّعِينُ جُنُودَهُ، فَمَنَعُوكَ الْمَاءَ وَ وُرُودَهُ، وَ نَاجَزُوكَ‏ الْقِتَالَ، وَ عَاجَلُوكَ النِّزَالَ‏ ، وَ رَشَقُوكَ‏ بِالسِّهَامِ‏ وَ النِّبَالِ، وَ بَسَطُوا إِلَيْكَ أَكُفَّ الِاصْطِلَامِ. وَ لَمْ يَرْعَوْا لَكَ ذِمَاماً، وَ لَا رَاقَبُوا فِيكَ أَثَاماً [الْأَنَامَ‏]، فِي قَتْلِهِمْ أَوْلِيَاءَكَ، وَ نَهْبِهِمْ رِحَالَكَ، أَنْتَ مُقَدَّمٌ فِي الْهَبَوَاتِ‏ ، وَ مُحْتَمِلٌ لِلْأَذِيَّاتِ، وَ قَدْ عَجِبَتْ مِنْ صَبْرِكَ مَلَائِكَةُ السَّمَاوَاتِ. وَ أَحْدَقُوا بِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْجِهَاتِ، وَ أَثْخَنُوكَ‏ بِالْجِرَاحِ، وَ حَالُوا بَيْنَكَ وَ بَيْنَ الرَّوَاحِ، وَ لَمْ يَبْقَ لَكَ نَاصِرٌ، وَ أَنْتَ مُحْتَسِبٌ صَابِرٌ، تَذُبُّ عَنْ نِسْوَتِكَ وَ أَوْلَادِكَ. حَتَّى نَكَسُوكَ عَنْ جَوَادِكَ، فَهَوَيْتَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ جَرِيحاً، تَطَؤُكَ الْخُيُولُ بِحَوَافِرِهَا، وَ تَعْلُوكَ الطُّغَاةُ بِبَوَاتِرِهَا ، قَدْ رَشَحَ‏ لِلْمَوْتِ جَبِينُكَ، وَ اخْتَلَفَتْ بِالانْقِبَاضِ وَ الِانْبِسَاطِ شِمَالُكَ وَ يَمِينُكَ، تُدِيرُ طَرْفاً خَفِيّاً إِلَى رَحْلِكَ وَ بَيْتِكَ، وَ قَدْ شُغِلْتَ بِنَفْسِكَ عَنْ وُلْدِكَ وَ أَهْلِكَ، وَ أَسْرَعَ فَرَسُكَ شَارِداً، وَ إِلَى خِيَامِكَ قَاصِداً، مُحَمْحِماً بَاكِياً. فَلَمَّا رَأَيْنَ النِّسَاءُ جَوَادَكَ مَخْزِيّاً، وَ نَظَرْنَ سَرْجَكَ عَلَيْهِ مَلْوِيّاً، بَرَزْنَ مِنَ الْخُدُورِ، نَاشِرَاتِ الشُّعُورِ عَلَى الْخُدُودِ، لَاطِمَاتِ الْوُجُوهِ، سَافِرَاتٍ‏ ، وَ بِالْعَوِيلِ دَاعِيَاتٍ، وَ بَعْدَ الْعِزِّ مُذَلَّلَاتٍ، وَ إِلَى مَصْرَعِكَ مُبَادِرَاتٍ. وَ الشِّمْرُ جَالِسٌ عَلَى صَدْرِكَ، مُولِغٌ سَيْفَهُ عَلَى نَحْرِكَ، قَابِضٌ عَلَى شَيْبَتِكَ بِيَدِهِ، ذَابِحٌ لَكَ بِمُهَنَّدِهِ‏ ، قَدْ سَكَنَتْ حَوَاسُّكَ، وَ خَفِيَتْ أَنْفَاسُكَ، وَ رُفِعَ عَلَى الْقَنَا رَأْسُكَ، وَ سُبِيَ أَهْلُكَ كَالْعَبِيدِ، وَ صُفِّدُوا فِي الْحَدِيدِ، فَوْقَ أَقْتَابِ‏ الْمَطِيَّاتِ، تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمْ حَرُّ الْهَاجِرَاتِ‏ ، يُسَاقُونَ فِي الْبَرَارِي وَ الْفَلَوَاتِ، أَيْدِيهِمْ مَغْلُولَةٌ إِلَى الْأَعْنَاقِ، يُطَافُ بِهِمْ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ. فَالْوَيْلُ لِلْعُصَاةِ الْفُسَّاقِ، لَقَدْ قَتَلُوا بِقَتْلِكَ الْإِسْلَامَ، وَ عَطَّلُوا الصَّلَاةَ وَ الصِّيَامَ، وَ نَقَضُوا السُّنَنَ وَ الْأَحْكَامَ، وَ هَدَمُوا قَوَاعِدَ الْإِيمَانِ، وَ حَرَّفُوا آيَاتِ الْقُرَآنِ، وَ هَمْلَجُوا فِي الْبَغْيِ وَ الْعُدْوَانِ. لَقَدْ أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ مَوْتُوراً، وَ عَادَ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَ جَلَّ مَهْجُوراً، وَ غُودِرَ الْحَقُّ إِذْ قُهِرْتَ مَقْهُوراً، وَ فُقِدَ بِفَقْدِكَ التَّكْبِيرُ وَ التَّهْلِيلُ، وَ التَّحْرِيمُ وَ التَّحْلِيلُ، وَ التَّنْزِيلُ وَ التَّأْوِيلُ، وَ ظَهَرَ بَعْدَكَ التَّغْيِيرُ وَ التَّبْدِيلُ، وَ الْإِلْحَادُ وَ التَّعْطِيلُ، وَ الْأَهْوَاءُ وَ الْأَضَالِيلُ، وَ الْفِتَنُ وَ الْأَبَاطِيلُ. فَقَامَ نَاعِيكَ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ جَدِّكَ الرَّسُولِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ، فَنَعَاكَ إِلَيْهِ بِالدَّمْعِ الْهَطُولِ‏ ، قَائِلًا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ قُتِلَ سِبْطُكَ وَ فَتَاكَ، وَ اسْتُبِيحَ أَهْلُكَ وَ حِمَاكَ، وَ سُبِيَتْ بَعْدَكَ ذَرَارِيكَ، وَ وَقَعَ الْمَحْذُورُ بِعِتْرَتِكَ وَ ذَوِيكَ. فَانْزَعَجَ‏ الرَّسُولُ وَ بَكَى قَلْبُهُ الْمَهُولُ، وَ عَزَّاهُ بِكَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَ الْأَنْبِيَاءُ، وَ فُجِعَتْ بِكَ أُمُّكَ الزَّهْرَاءُ، وَ اخْتَلَفَتْ جُنُودُ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ، تُعَزِّي أَبَاكَ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَ أُقِيمَتْ لَكَ الْمَآتِمُ فِي أَعْلَى عِلِّيِّينَ، وَ لَطَمَتْ عَلَيْكَ الْحُورُ الْعِينُ، وَ بَكَتِ السَّمَاءُ وَ سُكَّانُهَا، وَ الْجِنَانُ وَ خُزَّانُهَا ، وَ الْهِضَابُ‏ وَ أَقْطَارُهَا، وَ الْأَرْضُ وَ أَقْطَارُهَا، وَ الْبِحَارُ وَ حِيتَانُهَا، وَ مَكَّةُ وَ بُنْيَانُهَا، وَ الْجِنَانُ وَ وِلْدَانُهَا، وَ الْبَيْتُ وَ الْمَقَامُ، وَ الْمَشْعَرُ الْحَرَامُ، وَ الْحِلُّ وَ الْإِحْرَامُ. اللَّهُمَّ فَبِحُرْمَةِ هَذَا الْمَكَانِ الْمُنِيفِ، صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ احْشُرْنِي فِي زُمْرَتِهِمْ، وَ أَدْخِلْنِي الْجَنَّةَ بِشَفَاعَتِهِمْ. اللَّهُمَّ فَإِنِّي أَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ يَا أَسْرَعَ الْحَاسِبِينَ، وَ يَا أَكْرَمَ الْأَكْرَمِينَ، وَ يَا أَحْكَمَ الْحَاكِمِينَ، بِمُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ، رَسُولِكَ إِلَى الْعَالَمِينَ أَجْمَعِينَ، وَ بِأَخِيهِ وَ ابْنِ عَمِّهِ الْأَنْزَعِ الْبَطِينِ، الْعَالِمِ الْمَكِينِ، عَلِيٍّ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَ بِفَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِينَ. وَ بِالْحَسَنِ الزَّكِيِّ عِصْمَةِ الْمُتَّقِينَ، وَ بِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنِ أَكْرَمِ الْمُسْتَشْهَدِينَ، وَ بِأَوْلَادِهِ الْمَقْتُولِينَ، وَ بِعِتْرَتِهِ الْمَظْلُومِينَ، وَ بِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ زَيْنِ الْعَابِدِينَ، وَ بِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قِبْلَةِ الْأَوَّابِينَ، وَ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ أَصْدَقِ الصَّادِقِينَ، وَ مُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ مُظْهِرِ الْبَرَاهِينِ، وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَى نَاصِرِ الدِّينِ، وَ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قُدْوَةِ الْمُهْتَدِينَ، وَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ أَزْهَدِ الزَّاهِدِينَ، وَ الْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَارِثِ الْمُسْتَخْلَفِينَ، وَ الْحُجَّةِ عَلَى الْخَلْقِ أَجْمَعِينَ، أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، الصَّادِقِينَ الْأَبَرِّينَ، آلِ طَهَ وَ يس، وَ أَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي فِي الْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ الْآمِنِينَ الْمُطْمَئِنِّينَ، الْفَائِزِينَ الْفَرِحِينَ الْمُسْتَبْشِرِينَ. اللَّهُمَّ اكْتُبْنِي فِي الْمُسَلِّمِينَ، وَ أَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ*، وَ اجْعَلْ لِي لِسانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ‏، وَ انْصُرْنِي عَلَى الْبَاغِينَ، وَ اكْفِنِي كَيْدَ الْحَاسِدِينَ، وَ اصْرِفْ عَنِّي مَكْرَ الْمَاكِرِينَ، وَ اقْبِضْ عَنِّي أَيْدِيَ الظَّالِمِينَ، وَ اجْمَعْ بَيْنِي وَ بَيْنَ السَّادَةِ الْمَيَامِينِ فِي أَعْلَى عِلِّيِّينَ، مَعَ الَّذِينَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ‏ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ، وَ الصِّدِّيقِينَ وَ الشُّهَداءِ وَ الصَّالِحِينَ‏، بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُقْسِمُ عَلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ الْمَعْصُومِ، وَ بِحُكْمِكَ الْمَحْتُومِ، وَ نَهْيِكَ الْمَكْتُومِ، وَ بِهَذَا الْقَبْرِ الْمَلْمُومِ‏ ، الْمُوَسَّدِ فِي كَنَفِهِ الْإِمَامِ الْمَعْصُومِ، الْمَقْتُولِ الْمَظْلُومِ، أَنْ تَكْشِفَ مَا بِي مِنَ الْغُمُومِ، وَ تَصْرِفَ عَنِّي‏ شَرَّ الْقَدَرِ الْمَحْتُومِ، وَ تُجِيرَنِي مِنَ النَّارِ ذَاتِ السَّمُومِ. اللَّهُمَّ جَلِّلْنِي بِنِعْمَتِكَ، وَ رَضِّنِي بِقَسْمِكَ، وَ تَغَمَّدْنِي بِجُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ، وَ بَاعِدْنِي مِنْ مَكْرِكَ وَ نَقِمَتِكَ، اللَّهُمَّ اعْصِمْنِي مِنَ الزَّلَلِ، وَ سَدِّدْنِي فِي الْقَوْلِ وَ الْعَمَلِ، وَ افْسَحْ لِي فِي مُدَّةِ الْأَجَلِ، وَ أَعْفِنِي مِنَ الْأَوْجَاعِ وَ الْعِلَلِ، وَ بَلِّغْنِي بِمَوَالِيَّ وَ بِفَضْلِكَ أَفْضَلَ الْأَمَلِ. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَ اقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِي، وَ ارْحَمْ عَبْرَتِي‏ ، وَ أَقِلْنِي عَثْرَتِي، وَ نَفِّسْ كُرْبَتِي، وَ اغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي، وَ أَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي. اللَّهُمَّ لَا تَدَعْ لِي فِي هَذَا الْمَشْهَدِ الْمُعَظَّمِ، وَ الْمَحَلِّ الْمُكَرَّمِ، ذَنْباً إِلَّا غَفَرْتَهُ، وَ لَا عَيْباً إِلَّا سَتَرْتَهُ، وَ لَا غَمّاً إِلَّا كَشَفْتَهُ، وَ لَا رِزْقاً إِلَّا بَسَطْتَهُ، وَ لَا جَاهاً إِلَّا عَمَرْتَهُ، وَ لَا فَسَاداً إِلَّا أَصْلَحْتَهُ، وَ لَا أَمَلًا إِلَّا بَلَّغْتَهُ، وَ لَا دُعَاءً إِلَّا أَجَبْتَهُ، وَ لَا مُضَيَّقاً إِلَّا فَرَّجْتَهُ، وَ لَا شَمْلًا إِلَّا جَمَعْتَهُ، وَ لَا أَمْراً إِلَّا أَتْمَمْتَهُ، وَ لَا مَالًا إِلَّا كَثَّرْتَهُ، وَ لَا خُلُقاً إِلَّا حَسَّنْتَهُ، وَ لَا إِنْفَاقاً إِلَّا أَخْلَفْتَهُ، وَ لَا حَالًا إِلَّا عَمَّرْتَهُ، وَ لَا حَسُوداً إِلَّا قَمَعْتَهُ، وَ لَا عَدُوّاً إِلَّا أَرْدَيْتَهُ، وَ لَا شَرّاً إِلَّا كَفَيْتَهُ، وَ لَا مَرَضاً إِلَّا شَفَيْتَهُ، وَ لَا بَعِيداً إِلَّا أَدْنَيْتُهُ، وَ لَا شَعَثاً إلَّا لَمَمْتَهُ، وَ لَا سُؤَالًا إِلَّا أَعْطَيْتَهُ. اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْعَاجِلَةِ وَ ثَوَابَ الْآجِلَةِ، اللَّهُمَّ أَغْنِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنِ الْحَرَامِ، وَ بِفَضْلِكَ عَنْ جَمِيعِ الْأَنَامِ، اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْماً نَافِعاً، وَ قَلْباً خَاشِعاً، وَ يَقِيناً شَافِياً، وَ عَمَلًا زَاكِياً، وَ صَبْراً جَمِيلًا، وَ أَجْراً جَزِيلًا. اللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي شُكْرَ نِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ، وَ زِدْ فِي إِحْسَانِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ إِلَيَّ، وَ اجْعَلْ قَوْلِي فِي النَّاسِ مَسْمُوعاً، وَ عَمَلِي عِنْدَكَ مَرْفُوعاً، وَ أَثَرِي فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ مَتْبُوعاً، وَ عَدُوِّي مَقمُوعاً. اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَخْيَارِ، فِي آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ وَ أَطْرَافِ النَّهَارِ، وَ اكْفِنِي شَرَّ الْأَشْرَارِ، وَ طَهِّرْنِي مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَ الْأَوْزَارِ، وَ أَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ، وَ أَدْخِلْنِي‏ دَارَ الْقَرَارِ، وَ اغْفِرْ لِي وَ لِجَمِيعِ إِخْوَانِي فِيكَ، وَ أَخَوَاتِيَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ، بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ" .

سلام ہو خلقِ خدا میں منتخب روزگار نبی آدمؑ پر۔ سلام ہو اللہ کے ولی اور اس کے نیک بندے شیثؑ پر۔ سلام ہو خدا کے دلیلوں کے مظہر ادریسؑ پر۔ سلام ہو نوحؑ پر اللہ نے جن کی دعا قبول کی۔ سلام ہو ہودؑ پر جن کی مراد اللہ نے پوری کی۔ سلام ہو صالحؑ پر جن کی اللہ نے اپنے لطف خاص سے رہبری کی۔ سلام ہو ابراہیمؑ خلیل پر جنھیں اللہ نے اپنے لطفِ خاص سے رہبری کی۔ سلام ہو فدیۂِ راہِ حق اسمٰعیلؑ پر جنھیں اللہ نے جنت سے ذبح عظیم کا تحفہ بھیجا۔ سلام ہو اسحاقؑ پر جن کی ذریت میں اللہ نے نبوت قرار دی۔ سلام ہو یعقوبؑ پر جن کی بینائی اللہ کی رحمت سے واپس آگئی۔ سلام ہو یوسفؑ پر جو اللہ کی بزرگی کے طفیل کنویں سے رہا ہوئے۔ سلام ہو موسیٰؑ پر جن کے لئے اللہ نےاپنی قدرتِ خاص سے دریا میں راستے بنا دیئے۔ سلام ہو ہارونؑ پر جنھیں اللہ نے اپنی نبوت کے لئے مخصوص فرمایا۔ سلام ہو شعیبؑ پر جنھیں اللہ نے ان اُمت پر نصرت دے کر سرفراز کیا۔ سلام ہو سلیمانؑ پر جن کے سامنے اللہ کی عزت کے طفیل جنوں نے سر جھکایا۔ سلام ہو ایوبؑ پر جن کو اللہ نے بیماری سے شفا دی۔ سلام ہو یونسؑ پر جن کے وعدہ کو اللہ نے پورا کیا۔ سلام ہو عزیزؑ پر جن کو اللہ نے دوبارہ زندگی عطا فرمائی۔ سلام ہو زکریاؑ پر جنھوں نے سخت آزمائشوں میں بھی صبر سے کام لیا۔ سلام ہو یحیٰؑ پر جنھیں اللہ نے شہادت سے سر بلند کیا۔ سلام ہو عیسیٰؑ پر جو اللہ کی روح اور اس کا پیغام ہیں۔ سلام ہو محمد مصطفیٰ صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہٖ وسلم پر جو اللہ کے حبیب اور اس کے منتخب بندے ہیں۔ سلام ہو امیرالمومنین حضرت علی ابن ابی طالب علیہ السلام پر جنھیں نبی صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہ وسلم کے قوتِ بازو ہونے کا شرف حاصل ہے۔ سلام ہو رسولؐ کی اکلوتی بیٹی فاطمہؑ پر۔ سلام ہو امام حسنؑ پر جو اپنے بابا کی امانتوں کے رکھوالے اور ان کے جانشین ہیں۔ سلام ہو حسینؑ پر جنھوں نے انتہائی خلوص سے راہِ خدا میں جان نثار کر دی۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس نے خلوت و جلوت میں چھُپ کر آشکار اللہ کی اطاعت و بندگی کی۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کی قبر کی مٹی خاک شفا ہے۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کے حرم کی فضا میں دعائیں قبول ہوتی ہیں۔ سلام ہو اس پر کے سلسلہ امامت اس کی ذریت سے ہے۔ سلام ہو پسرِ ختمی مرتبتؐ پر۔ سلام ہو سیّد الاوصیاء کے فرزند پر۔ سلام ہو فاطمہؑ زہرا کے بیٹے پر۔ سلام ہو خدیجۃؑ الکبریٰ کے نواسے پر۔ سلام ہو سدرۃ المنتہیٰ کے وارث و مختار پر۔ سلام ہوجنت الماویٰ کے مالک پر۔ سلام ہو زمزم و صفا والے پر۔ سلام ہو اس پر جوخاک و خون میں میں غلطاں ہوا۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کی سرکار لوٗٹی گئی۔ سلام ہو کساء والوں کی پانچویں شخصیت پر۔ سلام ہو سب سے بڑے پردیسی پر۔ سلام ہو سرورِ شہیداں پر۔ سلام ہو اس پر جو بے ننگ و نام لوگوں کے ہاتھوں شہید ہوا۔ سلام ہو کربلا میں آ کر بسنے والے پر۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس پر فرشتے روئے۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کی ذریت پاک و پاکیزہ ہے۔ سلام ہو دین کے سید و سردار پر۔ سلام ہو ان پر جو دلائل و براہین کی آماجگاہ ہیں۔ سلام ہو ان پر جو سرداروں کے سردار امام ہیں۔ سلام ہو چاک گریبانوں پر۔ سلام ہو مرجھائے ہوئے ہونٹوں پر۔ سلام ہو کرب و اندوہ میں گھرے ہوئے چور چور نفوس پر۔ سلام ہو ان روحوں پر جن کے جسموں کو دھوکے سے تہہِ تیغ کیا گیا۔ سلام ہو بے گرو کفن نعشوں پر۔ سلام ہو ان جسموں پر دھوپ کی شدّت سے جن کے رنگ بدل گئے۔ سلام ہو خون کی ان دھاروں پر جو کربلا کے دامن میں جذب ہوگئیں۔ سلام ہو بکھرے ہوئے اعضاء پر۔ سلام ہو ان سروں پر جنھیں نیزوں پر بلند کیا گیا۔ سلام ہو ان محذراتِ عصمت پر جنھیں بے ردا پھرایا گیا۔ سلام ہو دونوں جہانوں کے پالنہار کی حجت پر۔ سلام ہو آپ پر اور آپ کے پاک و پاکیزہ آباؤ اجداد پر۔ سلام ہو آپ اور آپ کے شہید فرزندوں پر۔ سلام ہو آپ اور آپ کی نصرت کرنے والی ذریت پر۔ سلام ہو آپ اور آپ کی قبر کے مجاور فرشتوں پر۔ سلام ہو انتہائے مظلومیت کے ساتھ قتل ہونے والے پر۔ سلام ہو آپ کے زہر سے شہید ہونے والے بھائی پر۔ سلام ہو علی اکبرؑ پر۔ سلام ہو کمسن شیر خوار پر۔ سلام ہو ان نازنین جسموں پر جن پر کوئی کپڑا نہیں رہنے دیا گیا۔ سلام ہو آپؑ کے دربدر کئے جانے والے خاندان پر۔ سلام ہو ان لاشوں پر جو صحراؤں میں بکھری رہیں۔ سلام ہو ان پر جن سے ان کا وطن چھڑایا گیا۔ سلام ہو ان پر جنھیں بغیر کفن کے دفنانا پڑا۔ سلام ہو ان سروں پر جنھیں جسموں سے جدا کر دیا گیا۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس نے صبر وشکیبائی کے ساتھ اللہ کی راہ میں جان قربان کی۔ سلام ہو اس مظلوم پر جو بے یار و مددگار تھا۔ سلام ہو پاک و پاکیزہ خاک میں بسنے والےسلام ہو پاک و پاکیزہ خاک میں بسنے والے پر۔ سلام ہو بلند و بالا قبہ والے پر۔ سلام ہو اس پر جسے خدائے بزرگ و برتر نے پاک کیا۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کی خدمت گذاری پر جبرئیل کو ناز تھا۔ سلام ہو اس پر جسے میکائیل نے گہوارے میں لوری دی۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کے دشمنوں نے اس کے اور اس کے اہلِ حرم کا سلسلہ میں اپنے پیمان کو توڑا۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کی حرمت پامال ہوئی۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کا خون ظلم کے ساتھ بہایا گیا۔ سلام ہو زخموں سے نہانے والے پر۔ سلام ہو اس پر جسے پیاس کی شدت میں نوکِ سناں کے تلخ گھونٹ پلائے گئے۔ سلام ہو اس پر جسے اتنی بڑی کائنات میں یکہ وتنہا چھوڑ دیا گیا۔ سلام ہو اس پر جسے یوں عریاں چھوڑا گیا جس کی مثال نہیں ملتی۔ سلام ہو اس پر جس کی شہ رگ کاٹی گئی۔ سلام ہو دین کے اس حامی پر جس نے بغیر کسی مددگار کے دفاعی جنگ لڑی۔ سلام ہو اس ریشِ اقدس پر جو خون سے رنگین ہوئی۔ سلام ہو آپ کے خاک آلود رخساروں پر۔ سلام ہو لٹے اور نُچے ہوئے بدن پر۔ سلام ہو اس دندانِ مبارک پر جس کی چھَڑی سے بے حرمتی کی گئی۔ سلام ہو کٹی ہوئی شہ رَگ پر۔ سلام ہو نیزےپر بلند کئے جانے والے سرِ اقدس پر۔ سلام ہو ان مقدس جسموں پر جن کے ٹکڑے صحرا میں بکھر گئے۔(یہاں ایسے مصائب کا ذکر ہے جن کے ترجمے سے دل لرزتا ہے۔ مترجم) آقا! ہمارا سلامِ نیاز و ادب قبول فرمایئے، نیز آپؑ کے قبہ کے گرد پروانہ وار فدا ہونے والے، آپؑ کی تربت کو ہمیشہ گھیرے رہنے والے، آپؑ کی ضریح اقدس کا ہمیشہ طواف کرنے والے اور آپ کی زیارت کے لئے آنے والے فرشتوں پر بھی ہمارے سلام نچھاور ہوں۔ آقا! میں آپ کے حضور سلامِ شوق کا ہدیہ لئے کامیابی و کامرانی کی آس لگائے حاضر ہوا ہوں۔ آقا! ایسے غلام کی عقیدت سے بھر پور سلام قبول کیجئے جو آپؑ کی عزّت وحرمت سے آگاہ آپ کی ولایت میں مخلص، آپ کی محبت کے وسیلہ سے اللہ کے تقرب کا شیدا نیز آپ کے دشمنوں سے بری و بیزار ہے۔ آقا! ایسے عاشق کا سلام قبول فرمایئے جس کا دل آپ کی مصیبتوں کے سبب زخموں سے چھلنی ہو چکا ہے اور آپ کی یاد میں خون کے آنسو بہاتا ہے۔ آقا! اس چاہنے والے کا آداب قبول کیجئے جو آپ کے غم میں نڈھال۔ بے حال اور بے چین ہے۔ آقا! اس جانثار کا ہدیٔہ سلام قبول قبول کیجئے۔ جو اگر کربلا میں آپ کے ساتھ ہوتا تو آپ کی حفاظت کے لئے تلواروں سے ٹکرا کر اپنی جان کی بازی لگا دیتا۔ دل و جان سے آپ پرفدا ہونے کے لئے موت سے پنجہ آزمائی کرتا، آپ کے سامنے جنگ و جہاد کے جوہر دکھاتا، آپ کے خلاف بغاوت کرنے والوں کے مقابلہ میں آپ کی مدد کرتا اور انجام کار اپنا جسم و جان، روح و مال اور آل اولاد سب کچھ آپ پر قربان کر دیتا۔ آقا! اس جاں نثار کا سلام قبول کیجئے جس کی روٗح آپ کی روٗح پر فدا اور اس کے اہل وعیال آپ کے اہل و عیال پر تصدق۔ مولا! میں واقعۂِ شہادت کے بعد پیدا ہوا ،اپنی قسمت کے سبب میں حضورؐ کی نصرت سے محروم رہا، آپؑ کے سامنے میدانِ کار زار میں اُترنے والوں میں شامل نہ ہو سکا، اور نہ ہی میں آپ کے دشموں سے نبردآزما ہو سکا! لہٰذا اب میں کمالِ حسرت و اندوہ کے ساتھ آپ پر ٹوٹنے والے مصائب و آلام پر افسوس و ملال اور تپش رنج و غم کے سبب صبح و شام مسلسل گریہ و زاری کرتا رہوں گا۔ نیز۔ آپؑ کے خون کی جگہ اس قدر خون کے آنسوں بہاؤں گا کہ انجام کار غم و اندوہ کی بھٹی اور مصیبتوں کے لپکتے ہوئے شعلوں میں جل کر خاکستر ہو جاؤں اور یوں آپ کے حضور اپنی جان کا نذارانہ پیش کردوں۔ آقا! میں شہادت دیتا ہوں کہ: آپ نے نماز قائم کرنے کا حق ادا فرمایا زکوٰۃ ادا کی، نیکی کا حکم دیا۔ بُرائی اور دشمنی سے روکا، دل و جان سے اللہ کی اطاعت کی۔ پل بھر کے لئے بھی اس کی نافرمانی نہیں کی، اللہ اور اس کی رسّی سے یوں وابستہ رہے کہ اس کی رضا حاصل کر لی، ہمیشہ اس کے احکام کی نگہداشت و پاسبانی کرتے رہے، اس کی آواز پر لبیک کہی، اس کی سنتوں کو قائم کیا، فتنوں کی بھڑکتی ہوئی آگ کو بجھایا۔ لوگوں کو حق و ہدایت کی طرف بلایا، ان کے لئے ہدایت کے راستوں کو روشن و منور کر کےواضح کیا، نیز آپؑ نے اللہ کے راستہ میں جہاد کرنے کا حق ادا کر دیا۔ آقا! میں دل و جان سے گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ: آپ ہمیشہ دل سے اللہ کے فرماں بردار رہے، آپ نے ہمیشہ اپنے جد امجد صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہٖ وسلّم کی اتباع اور پیروی کی، اپنے والد ماجد کے ارشادات کو سُنا اور اس پر عمل کیا، بھائی کی وصیت کی تیزی سے تکمیل کی، دین کے ستون کو بلند کیا، بغاوتوں کا قلع قمع کیا نیز سرکشوں اور باغیوں کی سرکوبی کی۔ آپ ہمیشہ امت کے ناصح بن کر رہے، آپ نے جان سپاری کی سختیوں کو صبر و تحمل اور بردباری سے برداشت کیا، فاسقوں کا جم کر مقابلہ فرمایا، اللہ کی حجتوں کو قائم کیا، اسلام اور مسلمانوں کی دستگیری کی، حق کی مدد کی، آزمائشوں کے موقعہ پر صبر و شکیبائی سے کام لیا،دین کی حفاظت کی اور اس کے دائرہ کار کی نگہداشت فرمائی۔ آقا! میں اللہ کے حضور گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ۔ آپ نے منارۂ ہدایت کو قائم رکھا، عدل کی نشرو اشاعت کی، دین کی مدد کر کے اسے ظاہر کیا، دین کی تضحیک کرنے والوں کو روکا اور انھیں قرار واقعی سزا دی، سفلوں سے شریفوں کا حق لے کر انہیں پہنچایا، نیز عدل و انصاف کے معاملہ میں کمزور اور طاقتور میں برابری رَوا رکھی۔ آقا! میں اس بات کی بھی گواہی دیتا ہوں کہ: آپ یتیموں کے سرپرست اور ان کے دلوں کی بہار، خلقِ خدا کے لئے بہترین پناہ گاہ، اسلام کی عزت، احکام الٰہی کا مخزن اور انعام و اکرام کامعدن، اپنے جد امجد اور والدِ ماجد کے راستوں پر چلنے والے، نیز وصیت و نصیحت میں اپنے بھائی جیسے تھے۔ مولا! آپؑ کی شان و صفات یہ ہیں کہ آپؑ: ذمہ داریوں کو پورا کرنے والے، صاحبِ اوصاف حمیدہ، جو دو کرم میں مشہور، شب کی تاریکیوں میں تہجّد گذار، مضبوط طریقوں کو اختیار کرنے والے، خلقِ خدا میں سب سے زیادہ خوبیوں کے مالک، عظیم ماضی کے حامِل، اعلیٰ حسب ونسب و الے، بلند مرتبوں اور بے پناہ مناقب کا مرکز، پسندیدہ نمونہ عمل کے خالق مثالی زندگی بسر کرنےوالے، باوقار، بردبار، بلند مرتبہ، دریا دل، دانا وبینا، صاحبِ عزم وجزم، خدا شناس رہبر، خوف وخشیت اور سوزو تپش رکھنےوالے، خدا کے چاہنے نیز اس کی بارگاہ میں سر نیوڑانے والے۔ آپ: رسول اکرم صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہٖ وسلّم کے فرزند، قرآن کے بچانے والے،اُمت کے مددگار، اطاعتِ الٰہی میں جفاکش، عہد و میثاق کے پابندو محافظ، فاسقوں کےراستوں سے دور رہنے والے، حصولِ مقصد کے لئے دل و جان کی بازی لگانے والے اور طولانی رکوع و سجود ادا کرنے والے ہیں۔ آپؑ نے دنیا سے اس طرح مُنہ موڑا اور یوں بے اعتنائی دکھائی جیسے دنیا سے ہمیشہ کے لئے کوچ کرنے والے کرتے ہیں، دنیا سے خوفزدہ لوگ اسے دیکھتے ہیں۔ آپؑ کی تمنّائیں اور آرزوئیں دنیا سے ہٹی ہوئی تھیں۔ آپؑ کی ہمت و کوشش اس کی زینتوں سے بے نیاز تھی اور آپؑ نے تو دنیا کے چہرے کی طرف کبھی اُچٹتی ہوئی نگاہ بھی نہ ڈالی۔ البتہ، آخرت میں آپ کی دلچسپی شہرۂ آفاق ہے۔ یہاں تک کہ، وہ وقت آیا، جب، جو رو ستم نے لمبے لمبے ڈگ بھر کر سرکشی شروع کر دی، ظلم تمام تر ہتھیار جمع کر کے سخت جنگ کے لئے آمادہ ہو گیا، اور باغیوں نے اپنے تمام ساتھیوں کو بلا بھیجا۔ اس وقت، آپ، اپنے جد کے حرم میں پناہ گزیں، ظالموں سے الگ تھلگ، مسجدو محراب کے سائے میں لذات اور خواہشات سے بیزار بیٹھے تھے، آپ اپنی طاقت اور امکانات کے مطابق دل و زبان کے ذریعہ برائیوں سے نفرت کا اظہار کرتے اور لوگوں کو برائیوں سے روکتے تھے۔ مگر، پھر آپؑ کے علم کا تقاضا ہوا کہ آپؑ کھلم کھلا بیعت سے انکار کریں اور فجار کے خلاف جہاد کے لئے اُٹھ کھڑے ہوں۔ چنانچہ آپ اپنے اہل و عیال اپنے شیعوں، چاہنے والوں اور جاں نثاروں کو لے کر روانہ ہو گئے۔ اور اپنی اس مختصر لیکن باعزم و حوصلہ جماعت کی مدد سے، حق اور دلائل وبراہین کو اچھی طرح واضح کر دیا، لوگوں کو حکمت اور موعظہ حسنہ کے ساتھ اللہ کی طرف بلایا، حدود الٰہی کے قیام اور اللہ کی اطاعت کا حکم دیا نیز لوگوں کو خبائث و بے ہودگیوں اور سرکشی سے روکا۔ لیکن لوگ ظلم و ستم کے ساتھ آپؑ کے مقابلے پر ڈٹ گئے۔ ایسے آڑے وقت پر بھی، آپؑ نے پہلے تو ان کو خدا کے غضب سے ڈرایا اور ان پر حجت تمام کی پھر ان سے جہاد کیا۔ تب، انھوں نے آپ سے کیا ہوا عہد توڑا نیز آپؑ کی بیعت سے نکل کر آپ کے رب اور آپ کے جد امجد کو ناراض کیا اور آپؑ کے ساتھ جنگ شروع کر دی۔ لہٰذا آپؑ بھی میدان کارزار میں اُترآئے، آپؐ نے فجّار کے لشکروں کو روند ڈالا اور ذوالفقار سونت کر جنگ کے گہرے غبار کے بادلوں میں گھس کر گھمسان کا رن ڈالا کہ لوگوں کو علیؑ کی جنگ یاد آگئی۔ دشمنوں نے آپؑ کی ثابت قدمی، دلیری اور بے باکی دیکھی تو ان کا پِتّہ پانی ہو گیا اور انھوں نے مقابلہ کے بجائے مکاری سے کام لیا اور آپ کے قتل کے لئے فریب کے جال بچھا دیئے۔ اور ملعون عمر سعد نے لشکر کوحکم دیا کہ وہ آپ پر پانی بند کر دے اور آپ تک پانی پہنچنے کے تمام راستوں کی ناکہ بندی کر دے۔ پھر دشمن نے تیز جنگ شروع کر دی اور آپؑ پر پے در پے حملے کرنے لگا۔ جس کے نتیجہ میں اس نے آپؑ کو تیروں اور نیزوں سے چھلنی کر دیا، اور انتہائی درندگی کے ساتھ آپ کو لوٹ لیا۔ اس نے نہ تو آپ کےسلسلہ میں کسی عہد و پیمان کی پروا کی اور نہ ہی آپ کے دوستوں کے قتل نیز آپ اور آپ کے اہلِبیتؑ کا سامان غارت کے سلسلہ میں کسی گناہ کی فکر کی۔ اور آپؑ نے میدانِ جنگ میں سب سے آگے بڑھ کر مصائب و مشکلات کو یوں جھیلا کہ آسمان کے فرشتے بھی آپؑ کی صبر واستقامت پر دنگ رہ گئے۔! پھر، دشمن ہر طرف سے آپؑ پر ٹوٹ پڑا، اس نے آپ کو زخموں سے چوٗر چوٗر کر کے نڈھال کر دیا اور دم لینے تک کی فرصت نہ دی، یہاں تک کہ آپ کا کوئی ناصر و مددگار باقی نہ رہا اور آپؑ انتہائی صبر وشکیبائی سے سب کچھ دیکھتے اور جھیلتے ہوئے یکہ و تنہا اپنی محذرات عصمت و طہارت اور بچوں کو دشمن کے حملوں سے بچانے میں مصروف رہے۔یہاں تک کہ دشمن نے آپ کو گھوڑے سے گرادیا اور آپؑ زخموں سے پاش پاش جسم کے ساتھ زمین پر گر پڑے پھر وہ تلواریں لے کر آپ پر پل پڑا اور اُس نے گھوڑوں کے سموں سے آپ کو پامال کر دیا۔ یہ وہ وقت تھا جب آپؑ کی جبینِ اقدس پر موت کا پسینہ آ گیا اور روٗح نکلنے کے سبب آپ کا جسمِ نازنین دائیں بائیں سکڑنے پھیلنے لگا۔ اب آپ اس موڑ پر تھے جہاں انسان سب کچھ بھُول جاتا ہے ایسے میں آپؑ نے اپنے خیام اور گھر کی طرف آخری بار حسرت بھری نگاہ ڈالی اور آپؑ کا اسپِ باوفا تیزی سے ہنہناتا اور روتا ہوا سنانی سنانے کے لئے خیام کی طرف روانہ ہو گیا۔ جب محذراتِ عصمت وطہارت نے آپؑ کے دلدل کو خالی اور آپ کی زین کو الٹا ہوا دیکھا تو ایک کُہرام مچ گیا اور وہ غم کی تاب نہ لاتے ہوئے خیموں سے نکل آئیں۔ انھوں نے اپنے بال چہروں پر بکھرا لئےاور اپنے رخساروں پر طمانچے مارتے ہوئے اپنے بزرگوں کو پکار پکار کر نوحہ و گریہ شروع کر دیا، کیونکہ اب اس سنگین صدمے کے بعد ان کو عزت و احترام کی نگاہوں سے نہیں دیکھا جا رہا تھا اور سب کے سب غم سے نڈھال آپ کی شہادت گاہ کی طرف جارہے تھے۔ افسوس! شمر ملعون آپ کے سینہ پر بیٹھا ہوا، آپؑ کے گلوئے مبارک پر اپنی تلوار رکھے ہوئے تھا وہ کمینہ آپ کی ریشِ اقدس کو پکڑے ہوئے اپنی ہندی تلوار سے آپ کو ذبح کر رہا تھا! یہاں تک کہ، آپؑ کے ہوش و حواس ساکن ہو گئے، آپؑ کی سانس مدھم پڑ گئی اور آپ کا پاک و پاکیزہ سَر نیزہ پر بلند کر دیا گیا۔ آپ کے اہل وعیال کو غلاموں اور کنیزوں کی طرح قید کر لیا گیا اور ان کو آہنہ زنجیروں میں جکڑ کر اس طرح بے کجاوہ اونٹوں پر سوار کر دیا گیاکہ دن کی بے پناہ گرمی ان کے چہروں کو جھُلسائے دے رہی تھی۔ بے غیرت دشمن ان کو جنگلوں اور بیابانوں میں لے جا رہا تھا اور ان کے نازک ہاتھوں کو گردنوں کے پیچھے سختی سے باندھ کر گلیوں اور بازاروں میں ان کی نمائش کر رہاتھا۔ لعنت ہو اس فاسق گروہ پر، جس نے آپؑ کو قتل کر کے اسلام کو قتل اور نماز و روزہ کو معطل کر دیا، احکام و سنن الٰہی کی نافرمانی کی، ایمان کی بنیادوں کو ہلا دیا، آیاتِ قرآنی میں تحریف کی، اور بغاوت و دشمنی کی دلدل میں دھنستا ہی چلا گیا۔ آپؑ کی شہادت پر اللہ کا رسولؐ سراپا درد بن گیا۔ کتابِ خدا کا کوئی پوچھنے والا نہ رہا۔ آپؑ پر جفا کرنے والوں کا حق سے رشتہ ٹوٹ گیا۔ آپؑ کے اُٹھ جانے سے تکبیر و تہلیل،حرام وحلال نیز تنزیل و تاویل پر پردےپڑ گئے۔ اس کے علاوہ_____آپؑ کے نہ ہونے سے، دین میں کیا کیا بدلاگیا! کیسے کیسے تغیرات عمل میں لائے گئے! ملحدانہ نظریوں کو فروغ ملا، احکامِ شریعت معطل کئے گئے، نفسانی خواہشوں کی گرفت مضبوط ہوئی، گمراہیوں نے زور پکڑا، فتنوں نے سر اُٹھایا، اور باطل کی بن آئی! پھر ہوا یہ کہ نوحہ گروں نے آپؑ کے جد امجد کے مزار پر آہ و بکا اور گریہ و زاری کےساتھ یوں مرثیہ خوانی کی۔ اللہ کے رسولؐ! آپؐ کا بیٹاؑ، آپؐ کا نواسہؑ قتل کر ڈالا گیا، آپؑ کا گھر لوٹ لیا گیا، آپؑ کی ذریت اسیر ہوئی، آپؐ کی عترت پر بڑی افتاد پڑی۔ یہ سُن کر پیغمبرؐ کو بہت صدمہ پہنچا، ان کے قلب تپاں نے خون کے آنسوبرسائے، ملائکہ نے انھیں پرسہ دیا، انبیاء نے تعزیت کی۔ اورمولا! آپ کی مادرِ گرامی جناب فاطمہ زہراؑ پر قیامت ٹوٹ پڑی! ملائکہ قطار در قطار آپ کے والد گرامیؑ کےحضور تعزیت کے لئےآئے، اعلیٰ علیّین میں صفِ ماتم بچھ گئی۔ حوریں اپنے رخساروں پر طمانچےمار ما ر کر نڈھال ہو گئیں، آسمان اور آسمانی مخلوق ، جنت اور جنت کے درو دیوار، بلندیوں اور پستیوں، سمندروں اور مچھلیوں، جنت کے خدّام مِل کر آپؑ کی مصیبت پر خون کے آنسو بہائے! بارِ الٰہا! اس بابرکت وَ باعزت جگہ کے طفیل، محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر درود بھیج، مجھےان کے ساتھ محشور فرما اور ان کی شفاعت کے سبب مجھے جنت عطا کر۔ بارِالٰہا! اے جلد حساب کرنے والے، اے سب سے کریم ہستی، اور اے سب سے بڑے حاکم۔! میں تیری بارگاہ میں! تمام جہانوں کی طرف تیرے رسولؐ اور آخری نبیؐ حضرت محمدؐ مصطفیٰ صلی اللہ علیہ و آلہٖ وسلّم۔ان کے بھائی ابنِ عم، توانا بازو اور دانش و آگہی کے مرکز امیرالمومنین علی ابنِ ابیِ طالن علیہ السلام۔ تمام جہانوں کی خواتین کی سردار حضرت فاطمہ الزہراء سلام اللہ علیہا۔پرہیز گاروں کے محافظ امام حسن زکی علیہ السلام۔ شہداءکے سید و سردار حضرت ابی عبداللہ الحسین علیہ السلام۔ نیز ان کی مظلوم عترت۔ عابدوں کی زینت حضرت علی بن حسین علیہ السلام۔ جویائےحق لوگوں کے مرکز توجہ حضرت محمد بن علی علیہ السلام۔ سب سے بڑے صادق القول حضرت جعفر بن محمد علیہ السلام۔ دلیلوں کو ظاہر کرنے والےحضرت موسیٰ بن جعفر علیہ السلام۔ دین کے مددگار حضرت علی بن موسیٰ علیہ السلام۔پیروکاروں کے رہنما حضرت محمد بن علی علیہ السلام۔ سب سے بڑے پارسا حضرت علی بن محمد علیہ السلام۔ نیز سلسلہ نبوت و امامت کے تمام بزرگوں کے وارث اور اے اللہ! تیری تمام مخلوق پر تیری حجت(چونکہ زیارت خود امام زمانہ عجل اللہ تعالیٰ فرجہ الشریف سے صادر ہوئی ہے اس لئے آپ نے خود اپنا نامِ نامی نہیں لیا ہے۔) واسطہ دیتا ہوں کہ: تو محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر جو آلِ طہٰ و یٰسین بھی ہیں اور سچے اور نیکوکار بھی۔درود نازل فرما۔ اور مجھے روزِ قیامت ان لوگوں میں شامل فرما لے جن کوا س دن امن و اطمینان حاصل ہو گا، اور وہ اس پریشانی والے دن بھی خوش و خرم ہوں گے اور جنھیں جنت رضوان کی خوشخبری سنائی جائے گی۔ بارِ الٰہا! اے ارحم الراحمین اپنی رحمت کے صدقے میں میرا نام مسلمانوں میں لکھ لے، مجھے صالح اور نیکوکار لوگوں میں شامل فرما لے، میرے پسماندگان اور بعد والی نسلوں میں ذکر سچائی اور بھلائی کے ساتھ جاری رکھ، باغیوں کے مقابلہ میں میری نصرت فرما، حسد کرنے والوں کئ کید و شر سے میری حفاظت فرما، ظالموں کے ہاتھوں کو میری جانب بڑھنے سے روک دے، مجھے اعلیٰ علیّین میں بابرکت پیشواؤں اور ائمہ اہلِبیت علیہم السلام کے جوار میں ان انبیاء صدیقین، شہداء اور صالحین کے ساتھ جمع کر جن پرتو نے اپنی نعمتیں نازل فرمائی ہیں۔ پروردگارا! تجھے قسم ہے: تیرے معصوم نبیؐ کی، تیرے حتمی احکام کی، تیرے مقررہ منہیات کی۔ اور اس پاک و پاکیزہ قبر کی جس کے پہلو میں معصوم،مقتول اور مظلوم امامؑ دفن ہیں۔ کہ، تو مجھے دنیا کے غموں سے نجات عطا فرما، میرے مقدر کی برائی اور شر کو مجھ سے دور کر دے اور مجھے زہریلی آگ سے بچا لے۔ بارِ الٰہا! تو اپنی نعمت کے طفیل مجھے عزّت و آبرو مرحمت فرما، مجھے اپنی تقسیم کی ہوئی روزی پر راضی رکھ، مجھے اپنے کرم اور جود و سخا سے ڈھانپ لےنیز مجھے اپنی ناگواری اور ناراضگی سے محفوظ فرما دے۔ پروردگارا! لغزشوں سے میری حفاظت فرما، میرے قول و عمل کو درست کر دےمیری مدت عمر کو بڑھا دے، مجھے درد و امراض سے عافیت عطا فرما دے، اور مجھے آئمہؑ کے صدقے اور اپنے فضل وکرم کے طفیل بہترین امیدوں تک پہنچا دے۔ خداوندا! محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر درود نازل فرما، میری توبہ قبول فرما لے، میرےآنسوؤں پر رحم فرما، میری تکالیف اور رنج و غم میں میرا مونس و غم خوار بن جا، میری خطائیں معاف فرما دے اور میری اولاد کو سعید و صالح بنا دے۔ ربِّ جلیل! اس عظیم بارگاہ اور باکرامت مقام پر میرے تمام گناہ بخش دے،میرے سارے غم دور کر دے، میرے رزق میں وسعت عطا فرما، کی فرصت نہ ملے اور مجھ پر اتنا فضل و کرم کر کہ میں تمام مخلوقات سے بے نیاز ہو جاؤں! میرے پالنہار! میں تجھ سے نفع بخش علم، تیری جانب جھکنے والے دل، پختہ ایمان، پاکیزہ اور مخلصانہ عمل، مثالی صبر، اور بے پناہ اجر و ثواب کا طلبگار ہوں! میرے اللہ! تو نے مجھ پر جو فراوان نعمتیں نازل فرمائی ہیں تو ہی مجھے ان کے بارے میں اپنے شکرو سپاس کی توفیق عطا فرما اور اس کے نتیجہ میں مجھ پر اپنے احسان و کرم میں اضافہ فرما۔ لوگوں کے درمیان میرے قول میں تاثیر عطا کر، میرے عمل کو اپنی بارگاہ میں بلندی عطا فرما، مجھے ایسا بنا دے کہ میری نیکیوں کی پیروی کی جانے لگے، اور میرے دشمن کو تباہ و برباد کر دے۔ اے جہانوں کے پالنہار! تو اپنے بہترین بندوں یعنی محمدؐ و آل محمدؐ پر شب و روز اپنی رحمتیں اور درود نازل فرما، اور مجھے بروں کی شر سے محفوظ کر دے، گناہوں سے پاک فرما دے۔ میرے بوجھ اُتار دے۔ مجھے سکون و قرار کی جگہ یعنی جنت میں جگہ دے۔ نیز مجھے اور مومنین و مومنات میں سے میرے تمام بھائیوں اور بہنوں اور اعزہ و اقربا کو بخش دےْ۔ اے سب رحم کرنے والوں سے زیادہ رحم کرنے والے اپنی رحمت کے تصدق میری التجا کو قبول فرما لے۔

Peace be upon Adam, the senior-most of Allah among His creation. Peace be upon Shees, the Wali of Allah due to his goodness. Peace be upon Idrees (a.s.) who was established by Allah with proof (Hujjat). Peace be upon Nuh (a.s.), the one whose invocations were accepted. Peace be upon Hud (a.s.), who was the recipient of help from Allah by seeking (Allah's) help. Peace be upon Saleh (a.s.), the one whom Allah made important through His mercy and generosity. Peace be upon Ibrahim (a.s.), whom Allah accepted as His friend. Peace be upon Ismael (a.s.), the one whom Allah bestowed with ransom from Heaven in view of the great sacrifice (zibhe azeem). Peace be upon Ishaq (a.s.), the one in whose progeny Allah has established Prophethood. Peace be upon Yaqoob (a.s.), the one for whom Allah restored s!ght. by His Mercy. Peace be upon Yusuf (a.s.), the one whom Allah rescued from the well, by His Greatness. Peace be upon Musa (a.s.), the one for whom Allah, parted the sea. by His Power. Peace be upon Haroon (a.s.). the one who was bestowed distinction by Allah due to his prophethood. Peace be upon Shoeb (a.s.), the one whom Allah helped (for achieving victory) upon his people. Peace be upon Dawood (a.s.). the one whom Allah forgave after his mistake (of Tark-e-awia). Peace be upon Suleman (a.s.), the one underwhose might Allah subjugated the Jinns. Peace be upon Ayyub (a.s.), the one whom Allah cured after his (prolonged) illness. Peace be upon Yunus (a.s.), the one whose promise Allah fulfilled -that which he had undertaken to perform. Peace be upon Uzair (a.s.), whom Allah brought to life after his death. Peace be upon Zakaria (a.s.), who remained most patient in his tribulations. Peace be upon Yahya (a.s.), whom Allah raised in status after his martyrdom. Peace be upon Isa (a.s.), the Spirit of Allah and His Word. (kalimah). Peace be upon Mohammed (s.a.w.s.) the beloved of Allah, and His senior-most (Prophet). Peace be upon the Chief of believers, Ali Ibne Abi Talib (a.s.), whom Allah bestowed the distinction of the brotherhood (of the Prophet s.a.) Peace be upon Fatima (s.a.), His (prophets) daughter. Peace be upon Abu Mohammed Hasan (a.s.), the Wasi of his father's will and his vicegerent. Peace be upon Husain (a.s.), who sacrificed his remaining life for Allah despite his injuries. Peace be upon the one who obeyed Allah secretly and openly. Peace be upon the one whose grave's soilis bestowed with curative powers by Allah. Peace be upon the one, in whose progeny is Imamat till the Day of Qiyamat. Peace be upon the son of the Seal of the Prophets. Peace be upon the son of the Chief of the Successors. Peace be upon the son of Fatima Zahra (s.a.). Peace be upon the son of Khatijatul Kubra. Peace be upon the son of Sidratul Muntaha. Peace be upon the son of Jannatul Maawa. Peace be upon the son of Zamzam and Safa. Peace be upon the one who was smeared in blood. Peace be. upon the one whose tents were torn asunder. Peace be upon the fifth one of the people of Kisa (blanket). Peace be upon the most helpless of the wayfarers. Peace be upon the one who has suffered the maximum pain among all the martyrs. Peace be upon the one who was killed by illegitimate born (people). Peace be upon the one who camped at Karbala. Peace be upon the one for whom the angels of the sky wept. Peace be upon the one who has purified Imams in his progeny. Peace be upon the chiefs of the faith. Peace be upon the destinations of Proofs (of Allah). Peace be upon the Imams, the guides (of mankind). Peace be upon the blood-smeared necks. Peace be upon the lips. that were parched due to thirst. Peace be upon those (martyrs) who were cut into pieces. Peace be upon the souls whose belongings were plundered soon after their killings. Peace be upon the uncovered dead bodies. Peace be upon the emaciated and the deformed corpses. Peace be upon the deluge of the (martyrs') blood. Peace be upon the dismembered limbs. Peace be upon the heads that were raised on the lances. Peace be upon the d1aste women, who were (forcibly) exposed. Peace be upon the Proof of the Lord of the worlds. Peace be upon you and upon your purified ancestors. Peace be upon you and upon your martyred offspring. Peace be upon you and upon your offspring's who helped you. Peace be upon you and upon the angels that accompanied you. Peace be upon the one who was killed unjustly. Peace be upon your brother (Imam Hasan a.s.) who was poisoned (to death). Peace be upon Ali the elder (Ali Akbar). Peace be upon the (suckling) Young one (sagheer). Peace be upon the bodies that were hung after being killed. Peace be upon the nearest of the Prophet's progeny. Peace be upon the corpses that were abandoned in the desert. Peace be upon the travelers who were driven out from their homes. Peace be upon those who were buried without shrouds. Peace be upon the (pure) heads which were severed from the bodies. Peace be upon the one who remained patient in calamities. Peace be upon those oppressed ones who had no helper. Peace be upon the one who reposes in the purified tombs. Peace be upon the master of the lofty dome. Peace be upon the one who is purified by the Mighty (Allah). Peace be upon the one who was prided upon by Jibraeel. Peace be upon the one who was put to sleep in the cradle by Mikaeel. Peace be upon the one regarding whom oaths were broken. Peace be upon the one whose dignity was lowered. Peace be upon the one whose blood was shed unjustly. Peace be upon the one who was bathed in the blood of his own wounds. Peace be upon the one who was attacked with spears from all sides. Peace be upon the one who was inflicted with every kind of atrocity. Peace be upon the one whom the killers surrounded. Peace be upon the one who was buried by the villagers. Peace be upon the one whose jugular vein was severed with cruelty. Peace be upon the one who warded off the enemies all alone. Peace be upon the one whose hair was dyed red in blood. Peace be upon the blood-smeared cheeks. Peace be upon 1he dust-smeared body. Peace be upon the teeth that were hit with an (oppressive) baton. Peace be upon the glorified head which was raised (on the lance.) Peace be upon the corpses that lay uncovered, and the tyrants of this ummat shook them violently as they ran about like wolves. And like the camivores they inflicted injuries upon them. Peace be upon you, my master and peace be also upon those Angels who collect around your blessed tomb and circumnutated your holy courtyard and remain present for your ziarat. Peace be upon you. So I have intended towards you and I am hopeful for achieving success in your place of audience. Salutations be upon you, the salutation of the one who recognizes your honor (able position), one who is sincere in your Wilayat, one who seeks nearness to Allah through your love. One who is aloof from your enemies. Salutations of the one whose heart is wounded due to the tribulations (suffered by you). And the one who weeps when you are remembered. Salutation of the one who is extremely grievous, dejected and forlom by the calamities (suffered by you). Salaam of the one who if he had been present with you (at KarbaIa), he would have thrown himself upon the flood of the swords and sacrificed his last drop of blood for you. And (he would have) participated with fervor in Jehad in your presence and he would have helped you against your enemies. And sacrificed for you his soul and his body, his property, his children. Even his soul would have been sacrificed for your purified soul. And his family would have sacrificed themse1ves for your family (members). Since I haw been pushed behind by the passage of time and being prevented from helping you by fate and I could not fight those who had fought you. And (since) I had rot been able to face your enemies I will continue to weep morning and evening and weep for you with tears of blood. The pain and sorrow of your caIan1iies and the painful sighs will never recede. So much so, that I will depart from this world with the same grief and sorrow of the tribula1ions suffered by you. I witness that certainly you established the prayer and gave Zakat, and enjoined good and forbade evil. You obeyed Allah and never disobeyed Him. And remained in contact with Him. And satisfied Him, and were awed by Him, and were attentive towards Him, and satisfied with His wish and will. And you promoted the sunnat (practice) of Allah and the Prophet. And annihilated corruption, and invited (people) towards the truth. And showed clearly the rightful ways. And performed Jahad like it deserves to be performed in the way of Allah. And you proved to be perfectly obedient to Allah. And you followed (perfectly) your grandfather, Mohammad - Peace be upon him and his progeny. And listened to the teachings of your father. And executed the will of your brother (Hassan a.s.) promptly. And you raised the pillars of faith and dug up the foundations of corruption. And trampled the heads of the disobedient, and (you are) the sincere advisor of the Ummat (of the Prophet). And simmer in the whirlpool of death, and you are the one who is merciful towards Islam and the Muslims, and a supporter of truth and most patient in the calamities and the protector of faith, and one who deflects those who attack it. You protect guidance and help it. And propagate justice and equity and help the religion and make it manifested and hinder and obstruct those people who consider it lowly. And extract the rights of the weak from the strong .And with regard to the orders, both of them (the weak and the strong) were equal in your eyes. And you were spring-time for the orphans and a refuge for the creatures and honor of Islam and a mine of divine laws and possessed the capability of fulfilling the needs of the needful. You walked the path of your grandfather and your father, and like your brother (Hasan) you enjoined good. And you fulfilled your duties and responsibilities with utmost readiness. Well-known for your charity, you performed the mid-night prayer. Your path was firm, benevolent among the creatures, greatest for every excellence, respectable with regard to the lineage. Your perfection was at its peak and you had an exalted position for your several Excellencies. You were of a high status and had many meritorious qualities. Your manners were praise-worthy, your bestowals were valuable. You were magnanimous! Guide! And very benevolent; Knowledgeable, a martyred Imam and one who warned the people with regards to Allah's commands). You are the son of the Hay Prophet -Peace be upon him and his progeny and a support for the Holy Quran. And the arms of the Ummat (Muslims). And the one strived much in the way of Allah's obedience. Protector of the oath and promise. You remained away from the ways d the transgressors. A Giver to those in trouble. One who prolonged the rukoo and sajdah. Unattached to the world as if you have to leave it soon. You always viewed the world with dislike. Your wishes were not worldly. You were very far from its comforts and embellishments and aloof from it's pomp. And it is well-known that your attachment is only with the Hereafter. Till the time that corruption became audacious and the slight veil lifted from the face of injustice and it summoned its cahoots for support. Then at that time you were at the sanctuary of your grandfather (Medina) and absolutely aloof from the unjust people. You sat in the prayer niche, busy in the prayers. You were far from the worldly vices and desires. You protected your heart and the tongue from every evil and in proportion to your strength and ability you kept your self secure. Then through your truth-perceptive knowledge you refused (the allegiance to Yazid) and made it incumbent upon yourself to fight against the transgressors and the corrupt. Then you immediately set out in company of your sons, family-members, followers and friends. You called the people to ward's Allah with truth and by clear and open arguments. And by wisdom and good advice. Then you ordered the establishment of lawful limits and the obedience of Allah and restrained people from evil, prohibited sinful acts. But the atrocious people oppressed you with injustice and tyranny. So you warned them of divine retribution before you made Jehad with them. And you emphasized to them and presented a firm argument against them, but inspite of this they broke every oath and allegiance regarding you. And they angered your Lord and your grandfather and initiated the attack upon you. So you also became prepared with spear and sword for the battle and attack. And you routed the army of transgressors. And you were surrounded in the dust of the battle and fighting with Zulfiqar with so much ferocity as if Ali (a.s.) was himself fighting. So when the enemies saw you to be resolute and fearless they began to plot and lay traps for you and began to fight with you with the cunning and mischief. And the accursed Umar ibne Sa ad ordered his cunning army to cut off the water supply. And all of them unleashed their atrocities towards you. They did not take into consideration their duties with respect to you. They did not hesitate to slay you and your group of followers. How great was their sin of plundering your belongings. You were bearing the tribulations of the battle with so much patience that the angels of the sky were astonished. Then the enemies surrounded you from all the sides and began to give you one injury after another and made you fatigued. No helper remained between you and your women and children. You were still deflecting the crowd of attackers with persistence and patience away from your women and children. Till the tiri1e they forced you down from the horse-back. And you descended to the earth, wounded. The horses were trampling you with their hooves. The atrocious-army fell upon you with their swords. The perspiration of death appeared on your forehead and your hands and feet folded and unfolded to the right and the left. You were beholding your wounds and your children too, when in such a situation you might not have thought of your children and family due to the severe pain. At that time your horse galloped towards your camp, weeping and neighing. When your ladies saw your rider less horse and the saddle which had slipped downwards, they became rest-less and came out of the tents. Their hair awry, they slapped their own faces and wailed and lamented. They were calling their elders and ancestors in a dejected condition after having been so much respected. They all headed towards the place of your slaughter. What a pity ! That at that time the accursed Shimr was astride your chest and was moving his sword upon your neck as he held your hair with his hand. And was slaughtering you in this way will his sword . You had become motionless and your breathing was about to stop. Till the time you were beheaded and your head was raised up on the sword. And your women were arrested like slaves and tied up with heavy iron chains and made to sit on the camels. Their faces were seared in the heat of the sun during the day. They were taken around in the desert and wilderness like homeless people. Their hands were tied to their necks. In this condition they were made to march in the markets. Woe be unto those disobedient transgressors who murdered Islam by killing you. And invalidated the prayers and fasts. And broke up the (Prophetic) practice and the (Islamic) laws. And demolished the regulations of faith. And burnt up the verses of the Quran and they rushed into transgression and rebellion. Certainly the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) became a victim of injustice, because of your death which he could not avenge. And the Book of Allah became heirless. And your harassment was actually the harassments of truth. And because you were not anymore, the calls of Allah-o-Akbar and La-ilaha-illallah lost their essence. No criteria remained for the distinguishing of the prohibited and the permitted acts. Neither the Ouran, its meaning and it's exegesis remained. And after you was the advent of open distortion in Shariat and the spread of false beliefs, and the ineffectiveness of Islamic Law. There was a surge in the selfish desires and deviations and there was an advent of corruption, transgression and evils. Thus the pleader came near the grave of your grand-father, the Prophet (Peace be upon him am his progeny) and pleaded with tears flowing from his eyes he said, '"0 Prophet of Allah! Alas! Your grandson, your children have been massacred. And Your family and your devotees have been harassed, and killed. Your progeny were taken as prisoners after your demise. And your modest descerK1an1s and dose relatives were put through untold hardships. Hence the Holy Prophet (s.a.w.s.) became very aggrieved and his soft heart began to weep. The angels and the prophets offered condolences to him with regard to you. Your respected mother, Zahra (s.a.) was in agony because of your massacre. Armies after armies of angels arrived to offer their condolences to your respected father Amirul Momineen (a.s.). and the Maatam stated for you in the skies. Hoories of Paradise slapped their own faces in your grief. And the sky begun to weep and so did it's inhabitants and the chain of mountains began to cry. And the sea and the fishes wept. And Mecca and it's buildings and Paradise and it's young male servants and Kaaba and the Maqaam-e-Ibrahim and "Hill" and "haram" all began to sob. O Allah! For the sake of the respect of this lofty house, bestow peace upon Mohammed and the Progeny of Mohammed and include me in their company and cause me to enter heaven through their recommendation. O Allah! Seek a medium for you audience. O the one who is a swift reckoner and the most munificent of the munificent ones. And O king of kings, through Muhammad, the seal of the prophets, your messenger towards all the worlds And for the sake of his brother who is the greatest mine of knowledge and wisdom, that is Ali (a.s.), Amirul momineen and for the sake of Fatema (s.a.) the chief of the ladies of the worlds and for the sake of Imam Hasan (a.s.), the purified one and the one who is the refuge of the Muttaqeen (those who fear Allah most) and for the sake of Abi Abdillah Al Hasain (a.s.) who is the most honored of the martyrs. And by his children who ere sacrificed along with him. And for the sake of his oppressed children, and for the sake of ali Ibnul Husain Zainul aabedeen (a.s.). And for the sake of Mohammed Ibne Ali (a.s.) who is the central point of the worshipers, and for the sake of Jafar Ibne Mohammed (a.s.) who is th emost truthful among the truthful ones. And for the sake of Musa Ibne Jafar (a.s.) who propounded the clear arguments. And for the sake of Ali Ibne Musa (a.s.), the helper of religion and for the sake of Mohammed Ibne Ali (a.s.), the foremost of the guides. And Ali ibne Mohammed the most pious among the pious people. And for the sake of Hasan Ibne Ali (a.s.), the inheritor of the Imams (a.s.) and for the sake of the one who is the Proof upon all the creation. That you shower blessings upon Mohammed and the progeny of Mohammed, the most truthful ones and the best people. Those who are given titles like, Aale-Ta ha (the progeny of Ta ha) and Aale-Yaasin (the Progeny of Yaasin) and that you make me on the Day of Qiyamat as the one who is the recipient of peace, satiated, successful, joyful, and the happy one. O Allah write my name among those who submit to you and keep me attached to the righteous. And I should be remembered by those who come after me with goodness. And help me to combat the traitors and save me from the plots of the deceitful ones. And restrain from me the hands of the oppressors. And gather me with my righteous guides together and install me in the best place and position of the dwellers of Paradise. With those upon whom is your bounty. Those who are from the prophets and the truthful and martyrs and the righteous. By your Mercy, O the Most Merciful of the merciful ones. O Allah! Implore you in the name of your infallible messenger and by your command which is definite, and your prohibitions which are shunned and by this purified grave which s visited by Jinns, angels and men coming from all directions. Besides which rests the oppressed mar1yred infallible Imam (a.s.). Remove my sadness and grief and erase the undesirable part of my destiny. And give me refuge from the fire of Hell. O Allah! Heap up for me your bounties and satisfy me with your destiny (for me), and hide me in your munificence and generosity and keep me far from your punishment, from your retribution and your penalties. O Allah! Save me from every deviation and correct my speech and my actions and bestow a long life upon me and save me from disease and ailments and pain, and cause me to achieve the best of my wishes through the means of my masters and through your grace. O Allah bestow peace upon Mohammed and the Progeny of Muhammad and accept my repentance and have mercy upon my weeping and pardon my sins and remove my difficulties and Ignore my mistakes, and make my children righteous O Allah! Do not leave even a single sin of mine unpardoned at this exalted place of martyrdom. And do not leave even one of my faults exposed and remove each and every sadness and grief. And do not leave I even a bit of my sustenance without imparting it abundance. And do not leave any position unexalted. And do not leave a single prayer unanswered and do not leave any difficulty unsolved and do not leave a single restlessness unchanged by ease . And do not leave a single affair incomplete, and not a bit of wealth without bestowing increase in it. And not a single moral attitude without perfecting it. And not a single condition without making it better. And not a single evil without correcting it. And not a single jealous person, but that you destroy him. And not single a enemy without annihilating him. And not a single evil without saving me from it. And not a single malady without curing me from it. And not a single distant one without making it near. And not a single difficulty but that you remove it. And not a single wish but that you fulfill it. O Allah, certainly I invoke you for betterment of the world and for the rewards of the hereafter. O Allah bestow upon me the "halal" sustenance so that I am not in need of any "haraam". And bestow so much of your Grace upon me that I do not wish anything from your creatures. O Allah I invoke you for the useful knowledge and a fearful heart and a belief that does not harbor any doubt. And a pure action, and the best patience and a bountiful reward. O Allah give me the "Tawfeeq" to thank you for your bounties upon me and increase you blessings and mercy for me and make my advice such that people follow it and make my actions esteemed in your eyes and make my good acts such that they deserved to be followed. And destroy my enemy. O Allah send the blessings upon Mohammed and the Progeny of Mohammed. They are the best of the creations. And continue these blessings upon these personages through the days and nights. And save me from the evils of the evil-doers an purify me from sins - and their burden and give me refuge from Hell-fire. And let me dwell in Paradise, the house of the Hereafter. And give me salvation and to my brothers. And bestow for us a place in Paradise. And my sisters all of those who are the believing men and believing women. By Your Mercy O the most Merciful of all the merciful ones
